"How can you lose what you don't have?"

Oh shit, that's deep.

"Be like an empty bowl; nothing in it, but full of potential to be filled"

I think this is what hit me the most from Laozi

I always thought that finding the love of my life will cure all my problems, but actually being alone and accepting it is actually quite freeing and has its perks that out weighs the burdens of being in a relationship. This video helped me remember that 😊

3 steps are:
1. Becoming aware of the 'indifferent': indifferent basically refers to wealth, material possession and all those things which will not give a lasting pleasure. In stoic terms anything which is neither a virtue nor a vice is indifferent and at the end of the day it is useless to attach ourselves to this indifferents.
2. Remember the impermanence: Nothing is permanent in this world so you shouldn't hold on to things.
3. Live in the present moment: The only time that you can have worry about is this moment. Worrying about what's gone or what will come will suffice nothing and will only cause you deeper troubles.

In the timeless words of Imam Ash Shafi “my heart is at ease knowing that what was meant for me will never miss me, and that what misses me was never meant for me.” Indeed everything happens for a reason.

On the contrary to common beliefs, intelligence lies in emptiness, not in fulness.
Acknowledge the information, retract the value and let it flow further. Making room for new wisdom to enter.

As a 14 year old only under a few months you have helped to open my eyes in this cruel but beautiful world I can't but help but express so much gratitude to you it's just life is so hard but when I reflect into the past I see you as inspiration I hold nothing back but to listen to you good sir and I'm sure you don't need this to move on in life but just thank you so very much.

The reason it is difficult to let go or accepting the things as they are, is because, of our identification with the feelings/emotions.
We have to let go of the emotions as they arise. This frees us from all the attachments and life sees very peaceful.

The past is something that we cannot control nor change it, so it's a waste of time and energy to hold on to it! What matters the most is the NOW and our future! So, let's not let our past dictate our lives, and start creating the lives we truly deserve ! :))

This was outstanding. Following this path is the key to freeing yourself. It's a lesson that must be applied in the moment.

These teachings never get old!!
I advice everybody to revisit these videos every once in a while, In my view this is a way of reaffirming these messages in our minds and making them part of our habits.
Thank you.

I would switch the concept of letting go in favor of accepting because letting go implies that the subject can have some sort of control of when to stop holding something. But perhaps it may not happen immediately.
By contrast, accepting things as they are implies no active action. For acceptance is constant.

Cancer took everything. House, cars, furnishings...all material possessions. I hadn’t heard about Stoicism but I think I’m naturally inclined. Somehow, I just concentrated on the fact that I got to have my husband for an extra 10 years. It got me through

When I had my first heartbreak, I was here too. Now that I’m at it again, a more painful one, stoicism helped me again to knock some sense on me. See you on my next heartbreak again. 😂👌
