Far better than some would have you believe. Having owned several and maintained a lot of them, I know if they are serviced/ maintained correctly they are generally very reliable. Like any motor if you buy a cheap, poorly maintained one you are asking for trouble

It's a jag I own a old one so I know the interior and as a mechanic and a British luxury car owner it's not that hard to keep them on the road you just got to take care of them.

Jaguar, the ones from 96 to 2004 were owned by Ford, so there were a lot of common parts. I test drove an XJ8R (supercharged) and it was sweet.

If I had a showroom for a collection of cars to display and admire without driving, I’d definitely pick one up and polish it to sparkling then remove the battery to prevent further issues.

I think you’re wrong on this one. The 2004-2009 XJ models are pretty reliable and don’t really have any known faults. The suspension can be easily updated.

The issue is people keep looking to buy and run a jaguar on ford fiesta budget. Jaguar is a high end and in some cases a prestigious car, so requires the budget for it. I have a x308 xj and its in the garage for part restoration and maintenance work and is gonna cost best part of £10k.

I really like this video. Because the more these incorrect videos are shared, the more likely it is that you will be able to purchase a Jaguar car in good condition at a cheaper price. Most people who drive Jaguar cars fall into two categories. Real enthusiasts who love Jaguar with affection and young drivers who want to buy a used, unmaintained Jaguar car at a cheap price. I've been looking for a used Jaguar car in good condition for two years and I drive it every day and it's never had a problem.

They are great cars, just change the air suspension to coils and avoid main dealers and it won’t cost that much .

I had 2004 and a 2012 supercharged Jaguars and neither one ever went on a tow truck. Both were awesome cars. Can't say the same for my BMW, Audi, or VW's
