I had progressive once, was my first insurance I paid for myself because I didn't know I qualified for USAA. They were just as if not more expensive, I used their lil tool to control how hard I braked to get a better rate. BUT!!!! I moved states so they said it didn't count so I said fuck you and dropped them like a hot potato. Been with USAA for bout 8 years now and not a single complaint. They even upgraded me from a regular sedan to a dodge challenger when some old coot crunched my rear quarter panel.

Worth noting that Shaq only endorses services he personally uses, mostly ones that treated him well before knowing who he was. He endorses the general because it was the insurance he used before he was famous

I have a Geico and someone sideswiped my car while I was in the doctors office. They paid out pretty quick without any issues. Pretty standard insurance claim.

I worked as a paralegal 35 years ago (damm I'm old) and Farmers was the insurance company I always hoped for if we had an uninsured motorist claim. The worst was AAA. The Farmers reps were professional and in my experience fair.

I started driving (legally) at age 14 on my father's policy with State Farm. When I got my own car(s) I stayed with State Farm until age 71, including homeowners and umbrella policies. We had one bad year (2018) with my (grown adult) daughter who lived at home then having a couple of auto claims and an unexpected fire in the garage that resulted in a lot of smoke and water damage in the rest of the house. State Farm refused to renew the homeowners and umbrella policies and doubled the premium on my auto policy. I had 57 years of being a loyal customer with no chargeable accident between 1968 and 2018, except for one $700 claim in a parking lot in 2002. It didn't mean squat. My agent was good and she gave me a heads up a few months before the policy expirations that I wouldn't be renewed. I couldn't get insurance through AARP or USAA (eligible for both). I was almost out of time and worried about the bank calling my mortgage for not having insurance when I just walked in to a local Farmers office. They not only insured me for auto, homeowners, and umbrella policies, but lowered the premiums I had been paying. State Farm can kiss my grits!

This is why I use USAA. They always answer the phone, they're always polite (granted its a bit goofy to have a civilian call me "Sergeant Moore" all the time), and I have NEVER had a problem with them trying to wiggle out of paying out. They've even paid without batting an eye when the rear-end was totally my fault.

I used to be a third party admin for most of the companies you said and, by god I knew every time I saw The General pop up it was gonna be a wild ride of someone who probably wont get covered, but not for any of the reasons most people don't get covered.

I have Allstate and got into a fender-bender a couple of years ago. They didn't nickel and dime me at all. I did have to wait two months for my car to be fixed because of supply chain issues, but that wasn't them.

Have progressive. Got into a rear car collison last november. Got ahold of a insurance claims associate quickly and got the whole ordeal resolved in around 2 months? Back of my car was a bit shifted from the collison but nothing major.

I have State Farm and they have always paid claims promptly and fairly. However, I am in TN. I believe other states have had problems with them in the past.
