FACTS - There are quite a few signs that point to Hector being connected to Miguel, and one of the big ones has to do with his shoe polish. Hector actually uses it to help disguise Miguel as a skeleton. But, here’s the thing—why would Hector have shoe polish on him in the afterlife when he doesn’t even wear shoes? Considering that Miguel’s family is all about the shoemaking business, it’s possible that Hector keeps it as a sentimental reminder of the family he supposedly left behind. Interesting, right?
