i've made lace before and let me tell you: they were totally correct to charge as much as they did it's a LOT of work!

I love when things are expensive because they took incredible time and artistry to create and aren’t just a piece of garbage with a brand name on it

I have a couple treasured pieces of this that I got from an elderly lady. Her father was an Italian count, and her mother a Boston socialite. I suspect her mother was one of those hunting down this antique lace.

While it's nice that lace is now affordable for most people, I do hope that these beautiful handmade lace techniques continue to survive.

That Grinling Gibbons piece..exquisite. And the fact that it is made out of wood is truly amazing. I love woodwork as well and his carvings are just masterpieces.

I found a pair of perfect cuffs at an antique show in Pittsburgh years ago for $6. I couldn’t believe my eyes! They are a well loved and respected part of my collection.

I want to try lacemaking, one of the few obscure art forms I haven't tried yet!

It’s shorts like these that make me wish we could save shorts for later reference.

When my ex was 3, he poured red nail lacquer on his mother's Belgian convent lace trimmed lingerie. She didn't kill him even a little bit. That's mother love.
