I cannot express how much I LOVE that they make product recommendations that are in “normal human” price ranges.

You two Dermatologists! Love watching your videos, you both seem to have so much fun together and yet are informative so one can make really good decisions. As a RN, and having worked with so many DOUR docs, you're both a breathe of fresh air! So much better in forming relationships with patients and with staff.

For myself, I learned more about retinols and acne solutions for over the counter. Not everyone can afford expensive prescriptions and formulations. You make products accessible for the average person. Thank you so much! I look forward to seeing more of your videos and playful bantering. Keep it going!!

video notes
Excuse the spelling.
1. are vitamin A derivatives (adapalene, tretnoid, retinol)
2. anti-acne, improves hyperpigmentation, improves appearance pores, anti aging, improves skin texture
3. retinol is less strong and irritating then tretinoid
4. picking the right retinoid-based off of strength
1. retinol - good for sensitive skin
2. tretinoid more effective then OTC products. not necessarily more irritating.
3. retinol, adapalene, retanal, tretinoid, zaratine - level of irritation least to most.
4. use differen gel adapline for acne.
5. use
1. start low then go high.less irritating option. so skin has gotten used to it.
2. start with using it every other day. skin needs time to adapt
3. flaking and irritation is expected, which means it is working. peak of irritation is 2-3 weeks. after the skin will calm down and be less irritating. skin might get worse b4 better.
4. after a month or so start doing it every day. then see how u do. then u can increase to twice a day IF u want/can.
5. if you have sensitive skin then start with every 3rd night for 1 month -> every 2nd night for 1 month -> then every night for 1 month
6. if you have sensitive skin then moisturizer first then apply retinoid and then moisturize again.
7. use small amount, pea-size amount.
8. after cleansing and then moisturize right away.
9. protect sensitive areas. if your eye area is sensitive then apply moisturizer on eye lid before apply retinoid. only if that area is sensitive for you. if it is not then apply retinoid first due to benefits.
10. time: stick with it. time till benefits anti-aging 3-6 months, hyperpigmentation 3 months.

As a medical student I am really impressed by your goal of spreading true information about skincare and as someone who is into skincare I really appreciate the knowledge. I would love to see a video about repairing the skin's moisture barrier and one about the differences between dehydrated and dry skin. Thank youu

this is absolutely one of the best channels i have ever found in my entire life. Thanks a lot to both of you, i could say that i now have a better knowledge to really know what could benefit me and what i should avoid using. My dermatologist is just giving me some creams for acne scars without explaining or at least telling me if i might or not get results. BUT NOW i actually know A LOT thanks to you! the set up and everything is alright you guys talk with normal speed lol and like the content is getting better where you provide info that could solve common issues related to skin and all. Once again, thanks a lot and now im omy to get some RETINOL can't wait to try it out, ps: i will be careful:)
