Hi Cassandra, I got into skincare because I was taking oral isotretinoin and it helped my acne but completely changed my face. It was fairly straightforward to find out how to take care of my skin during treatment, but after was a rough transition. I think a post-Accutane advice video would be very helpful for a lot of viewers.

I started using tretinoin 0.05% when I was 21 because I wanted to stay young forever and even tho my skin was pretty clear I still wanted to improve some small texture and hyperpigmentation issue and now fast forward a year and it really took my skin to the next level and I can't ever see myself not using it. I also use some over the counter retinoids around 19 but the difference between tretinoin and the ordinary retinoid was insane.

I’ve just recently re-found your channel after several years! I have no idea why I ever stopped watching. I remember as a young girl searching YouTube for makeup videos for acne and yours was the only helpful one I could find! The internet was such a nasty place back then everyone was scared to show their skin but it was so helpful to me. So thank you for that, you look beautiful! It’s such a nostalgic feeling to find an OG who hasn’t completely lost it. You still come across as so genuine and intelligent.

I started retinoids when I was 23. Started with adapalene, used it for some years, then started tretinoin on my 27.
But my sensitive skin didn't accepted it very well, and some months later I had a huge crazy break out that nothing helped with. Then I changed all my routine and tretinoin for sensitive skin products only. It changed my skin for the best.
Now I'm using tretinoin for sometime, and before the retinoid I use a panthenol solution +aloe gel + light moisturizer with bisabolol. It's working great.

I use the Pacifica Vegan Ceramide moisturizer on top of my retinA and let me tell you my skin is super happy with this routine. I haven’t had much redness or peeling at all since I started on my retinA. Definitely recommend it to anyone.

1. Schedule- 1-3 times a week at first then 2-3 and then every other day
2. Use sun cream
3. Follow directions, don't use too much

Sandwich: moistuiser, retinol, moistuiser

I use a retinol of 0.3%, however I didn't sandwich at first on the first week, I did an eye mask in the morning and I gave myself a strange burn that lasted a week. After sandwiching with moisturizer and a sleeping mask and using Azelaic acid in the morning to combat the rosacea flare-ups. Now I use a peptide serum before the retinol and it did wonders.

I use adapalene for 3 weeks now and azelaic acid since a long time, one per Day, Adapalene is a prescription medication (but not prescription-only with retention of the prescription medication as are antibiotics, ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine) in Brazil. I considering changing for Retinol since is OTC and more gentle.
Edit: prescription can in fact be bought w/o prescription, I think is possible because is meant for continous use w/o necessity to return to your doctor every time you run out of medication. But you should not self medicate anyway

I used tretinoin (the med's name was clindatre) for 5 months without any problem. I had side effects and my skin purged in the first 3 months. At the end of the 5th month, my atopic dermatitis suddenly appeared and my face became untouchable within 2 days. The doctor said it was because of tretinoin. I stopped using it for 1 month and my dermatitis improved. Then I carefully tried to use tretinoin, but my dermatitis came out every time. Now i can only use adapalene and i pray everyday i don't have an allergic reaction to it

I'd recommend retinaldehyde. It seems people get this ingredient wrong. Because it's a step up from retinol they think it's more irritating.

It's actually less irritating. I started using it every night because my ADHD doesn't like being cautious.

After a few nights my skin was feeling a bit tender so I simply skipped a night after which I continued with the assault.

And unlike the orher retinoids retinaldehyde have this interesting side effect.

It kills off cutibacterium acnes. The pesky germs that are having parties on our skins and causes acne.

I've used it for about twenty years anf and I don't even want to step up to tretinoin.

I'm 50 dammit, and nobody thinks I look my age!

And even the reason I began using it was my fear of aging, but retinoids super power goes way beyond wrinkles.

They improve your skin in seemingly every aspect. Even ridding itself of pre cancerous cells.

I just started my tretanoin a few weeks ago. I have found that a hydrating serum-tretanoin-moisrurizer type sandwich works best for me💗🦋💗🦋💗🦋
