But some of my favorite retinoles do not spread/glide over the skin well. That’s why I end up using more. I don’t get irritation or anything but I feel like it’s a waste of products.

Yup. I did exactly what you're not supposed to! Dumbie me, thinking 'oh, it won't affect me, I don't have sensitive skin (never have) and it's "just" Cerave PM. It won't have much retinol' 🙄 I even thought I was developing an allergy to the make up that I hadn't used in a couple months.
