Good video! I also follow Dr. Dray and she says that if a retinol is working for you sometimes there is no need to “upgrade” to a higher strength not everything is about just trying to get the highest strength/percentage of a product.

I'm 53 and I use tretinoin for my face since many years. For the last 6 months, I began to apply it in a very thin layer around my eyes and it goes well. I use retinaldehyde for my neck because it's less irritating. Let's mention that I use retinoids every other day, alternating with a repairing barrier routine like niacinamide and copper peptides.

Tretinoin can be used with care, and most dermis don’t tell their patients how to properly use it. Wait 30 MINUTES after cleansing face to use it to allow your normal oils to come back up. This helps protect the skin. Use ONLY 1/2 of a pea size for your entire face. I use it twice a week, have used it for over thirty years, am 75, and have terrific, smooth skin. I use 0.05. Great video. Just remember: wait 30 minutes.

Strength:
Tazarotene > Tretinoin=trifarotene > Adapalene > all other forms of retinol and retinaldehyde

Medik8 is my favourite, and I tried a lot of different brands.

Adapalene has really benefited my skin. No breakouts, and fine lines are gone. Love it.

I'm starting to use the one from Paula's Choice that has 0.3% retinol and 2% bakuchiol. The retinol serum from Versed Skincare is very good for beginners, this was my first retinol and I really liked it, it also has bakuchiol. Thank you for your reviews ❤

Such a comprehensive guide! I’ve been hesitant to try retinoids because I wasn’t sure which one would suit my skin, but this video broke everything down so simply. Great advice on how to avoid irritation too. Definitely saving this for future reference

I started using retinol for the first time about 3 weeks ago. I started off with the cerave resurfacing encapsulated retinol because I was nervous about the transition period. I have had no reactions and am now using it every night so I am looking to step up the game to a retinal once I finish this bottle!

Could you please do a video on the newer generation retinoids? For instance, trifarotene, tazarotene, etc

If you were to recommend a simple skincare routine for a 61 year old combination some dryness. Wrinkles on my neck that i really hate. What would it be. I love watch your videos your a very smart young lady.

I use the Neutrogena and Avene love them both. On my neck sometimes Neutrogena is too irritating and prefer the Avene there.

I have been using adapalene for the past 3 years and I think I'm ready to try tretinoin. This video was helpful.

I wish there was more information about tretinoin affecting dry eyes. I used it twice and it made wearing contacts harder already, plus my eyes were super red. It sucks because I think it could really help my acne

Great video, thanks!! I’ve been using adapalene for 2 years now, and have seen much improvement on my acne-prone skin. Since I’m in my mid 30s, I’d like to up my anti-aging game, so I was just wondering if I should use retinal or tretinoin, and you gave the answer😊 thank you!

Very helpful, TY! I have developed super sensitive skin in my 60s. CeraVe’s vitamin C serum gave me an invisible chemical burn that kept burning for a good 10 days after I quit it! So I have to be super careful. I’m going to try the Olay product you mentioned. I’ve been using their Night Recovery Cream and love it, so hopefully I’ll love the retinol and peptides cream, too.

I've given a thumbs up for the Adapalene advice, seemingly so many Dermatologists on here recommend it as if it should be part of your skincare routine. Here in the UK, i can just imagine asking my GP for it for those reasons, id expect a definite no!
