I'm 52 years old and remember watching this for the first time in '92. This is my all time favorite performance of my all time favorite song. I've heard it hundreds of times and watched the Unplugged performance dozens and dozens of times...and it still brings tears to my eyes. A masterful performance of an amazing song. The stars were truly aligned on this night.

I was 23 when Pearl Jam originated.. and I went to buy their CD Ten and this song opened a revelation in me I nvr knew existed. I wrote my first poem to this song. Now I'm a published poet of 6 books, and I owe it all to Pearl Jam's Black.. this song is still captivating almost 30 years later.

Something to note, having the lyrics on hand for Pearl Jam's songs is a good idea. Eddie Vedder is sometimes hard to understand. The lyrics to this and a whole lot of Pearl Jam's music are meaningful.

This is probably the saddest song every made most people can relate to the heartbreak he is singing about you can hear the pain in his voice.. unrequited love is the worst kind of love the pain never goes away..😭😢💔. Since my wife soulmate left me a few weeks ago I realized I will never have a love like her my life I will die alone..😭
