Some say we get a fantastic singer every generation. Grunge had about 7 of them.

"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life I know you'll be a star In somebody else's sky But why
Why Why can't it be Oh can't it be mine" - Brings me to tears every time I hear it.

Best thing MTV ever did were these unplugged shows. Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Live, Eric Clapton, Stone Temple Pilots, Page & Plant... these bands had some of their best versions/performances of songs in these shows in my opinion. Showed how talented these artists were live.

"I know some day you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star...in somebody else's sky but why...why.... why can't it be mine?" One of the hardest hitting lines of all time

The saddest song on earth if you have ever loved and lost so deeply that you are never the same person again.

She’s falling in love almost 30 years later. Trust me…we all did. With so many bands of this time.

“I know you’ll be a star in somebody else’s sky.” That lyric is gold.

It doesn't matter how many times you watch this, even hundreds, the emotion of this song just never fades.

I saw this on MTV when it was on tv live, I was in 8th grade. My dad was in the room, he hated 90's rock, he's more of a Beach Boy's 1950's sound type of guy. When this song was getting to it's climax I remember him standing up in the living room... I did too, we were both absolutely blown away by this song and how amazing the live performance was. He's 68 now and still a Pearl Jam fan.

I heard someone say "emotion isn't pitch-perfect" about grunge, and it's probably the best way to describe it. Love this genre so much.

Who else watched for 24 minutes just to see her reaction to the gut wrenching "We! We belong! We belong together! Together! Weeee! We belong! We belong together!!"?

That gets me every time, best performance of Black ever.
