I was so deeply entrenched in the 90s. It is still completely unbelievable to me, that there are adults walking among us who have never heard of Pearl Jam.

And just like that, another person falls instantly in love with Eddie Vedder.

He’s not singing that song. He’s living it.😢

"I might have to play this a million times over" said everyone who ever heard this song 😊

Scott Weiland, Chris Cornell, Layne Staley, Kurt Cobain, and Eddie Vedder. The 5 horsemen of the 90's. They all sang with feeling and emotion. You can feel the songs they sing while listening.

Eddie reaches inside you and drags emotions out kicking and screaming. A treasure of a vocalist.

MTV Unplugged created some of the greatest listening ever. So many of the unplugged albums were better than the originals.

That sound you cannot identify is made by heartbreak. This song encapsulates the feelings one has when they still love someone who has broken your heart.

Eddie and Chris Cornell for me have voices that just open different portals in the universe. Unbelievably powerful but gentle at the same time. Perfect tone and pitch in telling a story, and the melody brings the emotions out the person listening.

He’s impassioned and barely contained. He’s handsome, dangerous and *feeling* his words so intensely. And he’s authentic to the bone.

I have never been able to sit through this song without bursting into tears at 'that line':
"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a star
In somebody else's sky
But why can't it be mine"
Get's me EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky, but why,
why, why can't it be, oh can't it be mine?"
Breaks me every time...

Watching someone experience this song for the first time is magical.

It absolutely brings tears to my eyes to see people fascinated by this incredible song after so many years. For those of us who lived it live, it was magical. More than magical even.

You never forget Vedder's voice. It feels like gravity.

"It's a true story, something that I really felt and I still feel every time I sing it".

Now imagine being 14 years old and hearing it for the first time, then seeing him sing it live at 16. The impact this song and Eddie Vedder have had on my life is immeasurable
