I genuinely think "I know some day you'll have a beautiful life, I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky but why can't it be mine?" is one of the greatest lyrics ever written.

Heartbreaking yet poetic. Incredible.

This may have been one of the best performances of anyone anywhere ever.

I'm absolutely convinced that if the audience hadn't applauded, Eddie would have simply collapsed onto the floor. The applause was like everyone giving Eddie a reassuring hug, allowing him to continue.

Every time I watch a Black reaction I cry, every damn time. You can not get anymore vulnerable then Eddie did in this performance.

Jeremy ( the official uncut video) needs to be on your next list. Just my 2 cents.
Great reaction

When this song was released I was only 16 and didn't have enough emotional experience to deeply understand its meaning, even though I loved every song on the album 'Ten'. Now almost 50 and after a divorce, this song hurts like never before. It's incredible how life makes us see the same things from a different perspective.

100% the best song Pearl Jam ever did. MTV knocked this program out of the park with Unplugged. Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Eric Clapton, Stone Temple Pilots, Alicia Keys, Lauren Hill and many others all did Unplugged. It just showed a different side to their songs. Some amazing music came from this. Damn the 90s had incredible music. I miss thise times.

This is the ultimate heart break song. Exquisitely expresses the emotions that most of us go through at some point in our lives. It is rare to find such raw artistry today when music is mostly ultra processed synthetic products.

Im so glad new peiple are listening to this music. Im in my mid 50s and when this song came out it was 1990s i was in bosnia/ serbia- kuwait iraq. I was happily married to the Love of my life "my soul mate." Rigjt before i rotated back home from my 2nd tour of combat. My darling wife was hit and killed by a drunk driver. I died inside. After 15 yrs of self destruction and Rage and Hate for every living thing, i made it back to the land of the living. Im hapily married now with grand children but almost didnt make it out of hell. Im just pleased someone and others see the value in pain and pearl jam music THANK YOU !! Tim.

Time for some Alice In Chains unplugged with “Nutshell.”

I still remember the day I arrived home after having just bought "Ten" ... because it marked my life.

MTV Unplugged hit its peak just as grunge was taking off. We used to have parties scheduled around the next shows debut, it captured a unique period of time that fans could relate with. It was raw, but honest to a generation that wasn't sure what to believe.

I to cry every time I see this video. One of the most incredible live performances ever. {when the song first came out, I had just gone through a brutal break-up so felt every word he sung.)

I’ve got a cool story about Eddie Vedder. First I worked for an insurance company back in the day in the special lines field and remember actually speaking to Eddie about his boat policy! He said enjoyed calling instead of his agent! Very down to Earth and later we were able to meet at a Seattle Pearl Jam show so he was able to put a face to the voice on the phone 📱. ILL NEVER FORGET IT! RIP CHRIS CORNELL. The Seattle scene in the early 1990’s is unsurpassed by anything going on today!

There have been literally thousands of 'break-up' songs written over the decades, but with Eddie's vocals and emotions, this has to be one of the most touching out there! I will admit that in their first couple of years of prominence, I worked their concert two nights in a row, and I was disappointed hugely when Eddie came out so drunk he could hardly sing. The concert was stopped early because of that, and I honestly didn't expect him to last much longer following in the path of Kurt Cobain. I'm glad he pulled himself out of it.

Anyone who has ever loved and lost can feel this song deep. Eddie's voice and delivery is just <chef's kiss>.

I've seen Eddie and PJ live five times over the last two decades, and I cried every time they performed Black. Listening to them is like a spiritual experience to me. Eddie is gorgeous, a beautiful soul!

The greatest GRUNGE BAND EVER! Eddie Vedder is iconic. Mike McCready and Jeff Ament and Stoned Gossard are guitar legends in my book. MORE PEARL JAM. 🤞✌️
