As a vegan, it’s nice to see people talk about accompanying it without bitterness or distain. This seems so sweet and I love how you also addressed honey and that some things seem vegan but are cooked in non vegan ingredients. To be honest as a vegetarian I do wish restaurants generally had more veggie/vegan dishes, especially since where I live they all tend to be roughly the same, and the vegetarian dishes tend to be goats cheese which I can’t stand, or halloumi which I love to death but to have it EVERY time can get a little boring. It’s just a little annoying going out for a family meal or whatever and always having to have the same thing or having to get sides or something i don’t actually like, you know? Idk
WORSE though is takeaway. Oh my god. It’s so difficult to get proper veggie/vegan takeaway that isn’t insanely expensive or too far away or whatever. A lot of the time the dishes aren’t actually labelled, and sometimes, especially in Thai restaurants, a lot of the ‘vegetarian’ dishes aren’t actually veggie. The main 2 things are they’ll have fish sauce or non veggie hard cheese. Anyway rant over lmao

I say honey depending on the farmers method of gatger the honey is what i would consider to make it vegan cause some types of methods i heard hurt the bees while some are neutral and the bees dont leave cause they know the farmer is taking care of them if not the queen would just pack up and leave

any vegan who is against honey hasnt arrived to veganism in any logical way. its just a weird dogmatic diet if you exclude any and all animals just because of "animal involved", rather than looking at the ethical and environmental effects on a case by case basis

bees are one of the few animals that can give consent, especially considering they can and will leave if they dont like a situation
