Hearing Leighton describe Romans 9 is like an Emmaus road experience. It makes one's heart want to break out in worship like the apostle and say _"Oh, the depth of the riches of both the wisdom and knowledge of God!"_ God bless Dr. Flowers

Isn't it odd how every person who preaches Calvinism is conveniently already "saved"? It's super easy to tell people "yeah, you're going to hell, and you are absolutely helpless to do anything about it" when you know it's not going to happen to you. Why bother praying "God, be merciful to me, a sinner" when God never "elected" you? What a terrible, fatalistic dogma to raise children with.

I have never understood why Calvinists can't marry God's sovereignty with human free will! Calvinists have such a low view of God's sovereignty.
God is so amazing he can give everyone free will and STILL accomplish everything he wants (without being surprised by anything)—that, my friend is an awesome God.

One question I've always had is, how does Allie, or any other Calvinist, know that they are one of the chosen few, and are not just fooling themselves into believing they are saved.
There are so many things about Calvinism that are just indefensible.

I am a calvinist but I’m listening because If I’m wrong I want to know. I enjoyed this.

I don’t know what I would’ve done without your teachings. I came from a Calvinist church that hurt me terribly. Thank you, truly, from the bottom of my heart, for these videos!

So I took some theology courses on hermenutics and exegesis and one thing I learned ( amongst many other) is that a single verse must be read in the context of the passage, the passage in the context of the chapter, and the chapter in context of the Book, and last of all the book in context of the Testimony (Old/New) and the Tesstimony in context of the entire Bible. If using this method of study it totally destroys the Calvinist doctrine. Along many other false/errenous teachings: 2Ti 2:15  Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Brother Leighton you are a foot soldier for truth. I am so glad I found your channel.

I love Allie Stuckey, but once again, Calvinism fails to hold up to scrutiny. According to her doctrine, God created certain people specifically to throw them into hell, for the purpose of glorifying himself, yet they are *still* somehow to blame for the transgressions that *God* ordained they would commit before the foundation of the world, and Romans 9 is the defense shield used whenever anybody points out this inconsistency. "God works in mysterious ways" is just another way of saying "I have no idea what I'm talking about."

Dr. Flowers I want to thank you so very much for desiring to continue in fighting the good fight of faith and running the race to the glory of our King, Jesus Christ. God has given you this mission field and I’m grateful you are choosing to be faithful. I am of the young generation (21 yr old) and I have grown up in a Calvinist leaning church. Yet my family has used those teachings we disagree on with our church as a time to search the scripture and know what we believe and why we believe it. I am not one to comment online but I wanted to encourage you, as I have been encouraged by you, that you are not alone in holding to this truth found in God’s word. My family and I have been very blessed and helped by your work. Your resource has been one that has helped me to see and articulate why I believe what I believe found in God’s Word. For anyone else who may read this comment please, please open up God’s word and READ it instead of identifying with the teaching of a mere man. The text is inspired, man is not. The Scripture provides commentary on every work of man not the other way around. Seek to be children of God and follow what Scripture actually says rather than the teaching of John Calvin or Arminias or anyone else. They were men. God is God.
1 Corinthians 1:10-13, 17 “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement. For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you. Now I say this, that each of you says, ‘I am of Paul, ’ or ‘I am of Apollos, ’ or ‘I am of Cephas, ’ or ‘I am of Christ.’ Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?…For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.” My plea in quoting this is we are not to be identifying with the teachings of mere men brothers and sisters but we are to be a people who read God’s Word and obey what He says. Dr. Flowers an encouragement I want to add to you sir, is to continue. Don’t give up the fight for truth. “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”(Heb.12:1-2) God bless you sir. And thank you!

I followed the Calvin doctrine when I first got saved because down here in New Zealand every church is either Pentecostal or liberal, so for me it was a breath of fresh air to listen to Christians that were serious about God, but the more I went further into it I became confused, and couldn't get past election. As I lived it out I noticed I was becoming ungraceful towards unbelievers, I still appreciate Calvinists and what they've stood for but I really appreciate this video on Roman's 9 really insightful.

Dr. Flowers, I want to thank you for taking a stand for the truth of God's word! After spending 3 weeks in a Calvinist church, what was being taught wasn't making sense for me! When I questioned the leadership I was given two books to read. The first one made me question myself and the 2nd one made me question them even more!!! Then I found your podcast and I was set free!
Keep spreading the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ!
Blessings brother 🙏!

Leighton, you are doing more than you realize. You are right that others need to step up. Some "big dogs" but also the little dogs. Us pastors in the trenches need to write, preach, teach, video, etc the correct interpretations of Scriptures. Maybe develop our own "together for the gospel" type of group? Start on-line and grow it aggressively. Connect with those groups already strong in this doctrine. It takes people and persons to take the lead. This goes beyond the SBC.

The most reprehensible part of Calvinism is the utter and complete misrepresentation of the character and nature of God.

Leighton what you said at the end of this video absolutely spoke to my heart. So I want to make an offer.

I currently work for a rather large organization (Focus on the Family) in the digital marketing department. I've worked with dozens of ministries over the past 7-8 years to develop and coordinate everything from designing a website to fundraising to managing events and conferences. Your ministry has been absolutely key to me being able to navigate the relationships with my Reformed friends and you've absolutely changed my life. You're deep dive into theology has been massively and profoundly impactful on my theology and explaining what I believe and why.

All that to say I want to volunteer my services in helping you and Soteriology 101 in increasing your reach and I want to help with what you were talking about at the end of this video, and I want to do it for free. And not introductory free and then I start charging, I mean absolutely free. I just want to spread this message as far and as deep as possible. If you can tell me what the best way to start this conversation is, I would love to help.

I love you Leighton and all other Christians here, thank you so much for this commentary. These kinds of videos give me peace so that it doesn't feel like my mind is being pulled in two. I hate Limited Atonement, doesn't make sense with John 3:16. Cheers.
