When I was studying university in Rome, one of the most convincing proffs of Jesus resurrection that I found were the writings of Roman historians like Tácitus, who described how the people who claimed that Jesus resurrected were brought to trial and under the weight of knowing that if they did not deny their testimony they were going to die being burnt alive (like Lawrence), or pealed alive, or thrown to the lions; they stayed firm in their testimony. Tacitus said, "they died horrible deaths". The other compelling evidence are the Actas Romanas, which are the records of those trials. These actas described how the first christians were given the opportunity to avoid horrible deaths by denying their faith in the resurrection of Jesus and they all accept the most painful deaths, rather than denying their testimony. On the other hand, in these actas, the witnesses corroborated that these people were incredibly kind and generous in the helping of all those around them.

It was not a debate. It was a thoughtful discussion between two individuals with divergent beliefs. Thanks to Ben for inviting and then allowing Dr. Craig to go into a long explanation of his beliefs

It's very interesting to see the "stumbling block" and "forgotten cornerstone" play out in real time-- I hope that God opens Ben's eyes one day

I am a big fan of Dr. Craig. Please note that Ben's Sunday Special - which Dr. Craig was a guest on - is NOT a debate platform. I think these types of reactions unnecessarily antagonize Ben and his show, where Ben may have quickly moved on to other content because he wasn't interested in arguing (which he admitted), but rather just wanted to give Dr. Craig a chance to speak on a wide variety of topics.

Ben has done the same with the likes of John MacArthur and Voddie Baucham, giving them a chance to speak their minds without interrupting or putting them on the spot.

Ben wasn't beaten or destroyed. He was simply a good host.

When someone says something is boring they are already in "hot water" as the subject is simply something they do not want to talk about.

Ben has a massive priori desire to deny Jesus as Messiah. It's part of his culture and goes against what he's supposed to believe.

William Craig discussed his interaction with Ben thoroughly on his podcast Reasonable Faith.

Ben chooses not to believe. He has a heart issue. There are plenty of facts.

It's a bit unfair to expect Ben to go against his whole upbringing and really his life. That he has the conversation is of great credit to him. Viewers were the winner.

Ben does not allow his mind to entertain Jesus as Messiah. Fabulous job William.

There's hope for the Church after all! As an elderly Christian, I am deeply moved by the brilliant young men on YouTube who are stepping out and stepping forward on this medium to the entire planet ! They are proclaiming Jesus our King and Savior of the World, the Messiah! .

You can always tell when someone knows they are wrong, or at least doubt that they are right, they say "I don't want to talk about it" or Oh well, who knows really? something like that

i don't think ben wants to go down the revealing of Christ being the messiah rabbit hole, his entire world would be destroyed.

Ben was pretty quiet and listened much on this talk.

Thank you for this wonderful discussion. This is the first time I have heard Jewish questions about Jesus so clearly laid out and the answers that William Craigs gave, and the context you provided is so helpful!

Don’t be silly. Ben wasn’t angry. If anything, he was caught off guard by Craig’s arguments and couldn’t rebut them.

Ben is treating the facts about Christ the same way as he handled the "facts" about the vaccine. Stubbornly ignoring them.
