Somewhere in a class room in Canada 50 years ago.
"Tim". "Here"
"Sally". "Here"
"Elliot". "Here"
"Jordan". "Well it's like, that depends on what you mean by role, and call. It's like it's not that bloody simple so as to just say whether or not I'm here, you know? It's like, come on."

Well, that depends how you define "sheer" and "bullshit"

The actual Voltaire quote is, "“There is no God, but don’t tell that to my servant, lest he murder me at night.”

Peterson has made a career out of turning simple ideas into complicated, convoluted word salads that seem to impress people, including himself, with his breadth of vocabulary and expression such that the listener is confounded by their own ignorance and embarrassed at their lack of understanding of what it is he is saying. Dawkins calls it bullshit. I'll call it incomprehensible piffle. If he is incapable of making himself understood by an audience, why bother? It's as pointless as a pentecostal church goer speaking in tongues. The point of language is communication. Simple, concise, and direct for me, thanks.

When Matt Dillahunty debated Petersen he refused to answer if god would still exist if humans became extinct; he obviously doesn’t believe in a physical god.

When I first found him, in like 2017 or 2016, i grew to deeply respect Jordan peterson. But as he grew in fame, I realized he was becoming more and more ideological himself.
I think he got dragged out to deep waters, well past where he knew how to swim, and lost himself.

These days… I mostly think of him as a sad case of another person who forgot they were meant to be expanding minds, not constraining them in the narrow walls of the culture…

The problem with Peterson is that he can spend an hour speaking without saying anything at all.

Jordan Peterson has credibility because he puts his fingers together when he speaks.

Peterson seems incapable of making a coherent point. What is interesting about that has nothing to do with him but his fans, who have their go-to rebuttal: “you just don’t understand what he’s saying.” Well here’s the thing: not only do I not understand what he’s saying half of the time, neither does he, and moreover neither do other PhD educated professors of psychology, and these are “his people” - which is to say that if anyone should be able to understand what he’s talking about it would be professionals in his field. However, even these people say his work is at best a rehashing of inane concepts that have already been much better said and at worse utter illogical nonsense. But yes, you, random man on the internet, are smarter than thousands of professors of psychology worldwide. It’s not Peterson who’s unclear. You are just SO INTELLIGENT that nobody can keep up with you.

Tried to find a source for the Voltaire quote and the best I could find is that it was misattributed to Voltaire in the book Sapiens.

THIS!!!! Agreed! Dawkins stated to Peterson " You are drunk on symbolism" and I totally agree!

It's sad to see that age is fast keeping up with Richard Dawkins, but it's good to see his mind is still proper sharp.
Thank you Richard for all you have contributed to the world.
