So, checked all the 7-signs. I'm already operating at TWO levels up and very successful. I've even requested a raise and title change. I've gotten crickets, so sending out resumes.

I like that rare feeling when you know, you are going to get a promotion & so does everyone else. It's very rewarding. Have a Great Day Jennifer 😀

My boss has asked me to train new junior members, I’m now flattered that it means I’m promotion ready.

I am literally having an interview for a promotion tomorrow and this popped up on my feed. Thank you for the video, it's very useful!

This resonates a lot with me and will help a lot of people out there. These signs are so powerful and most of the time, you know from within when you're getting close to. Thank you for sharing this 🙂

How about when your co-workers' jealousy make a toxic environment to avoid this?

I’ve seen number six at work. At one company I worked for my supervisor, took over all of her boss’s responsibilities after she left the company, and did so well at it, that we all saw her as the next manager, for that position, before it even became official.

Ouch!! That video hurt... As someone who has turned down 2 opportunities from manager 'to apply' for a role at the next level. (Imposter syndrome hit) I've since internally transferred with the company to a new role and having to start the whole promotion process again... ☹️

One other point to add applicable in many big tech companies - the next-level work you do also establishes the business case for your promotion; inside the company I work at there have been many cases of people being plenty qualified but the team simply not needing an extra senior IC. Proactively finding and integrating that senior-level work makes it much easier to build the business case.

I don't want to get promoted at my current job. This will help at the next job though :-)

Looking back on this, all of these happened. FML. Never should have taken it.

There can be all those 7 and even more. It does not mean you will get prometed if it will be not " confortable" to your boss! When it takes too long to get promoted it means that unfortunatelly you will never ! get one in that organization . Move on. Good boss knows when is the highest time to promote the employee not to lose hin or her, there are signs.

Not happening for me. I'm "old", and they don't let me do things.

What if you have all these signs, been here almost a decade and the longest, mentored, superstar employee, attended supervisors academy and denied a promotion?

So you're doing all of this and then at the last minute they throw the "Behaviors" at you. Which is the toxic AF way of saying. "If we promote you well have to promote a lot of others as well and that'll hit the bottom line, also you're not 'grey enough' to be promoted".
In such a case I run for the hills and find myself a new employer tout suite.
