I dreamed a while back about being in the past.
I was a student at a university, studying horticulture.
one of my male professors specialized in flowers, and he had a hobby in the language of flowers.
I was also interested, and it turned into a beautiful dream of two people sharing something they enjoy.
He never made a move, but we grew close. I became his assistant.
When I graduated, after I received my diploma I ran to his nursery as quickly as possible to share the happy news, surprised I didn't see him at the ceremony. There was a letter on his desk inside the nursery, inside it told me that he stepped down as a professor of the university. His parting letter had snapdragons pressed along the envelope.
Snapdragons are my favorite flower, but I don't remember telling him in the dream. it was bland letter, and didn't truly say good bye. It felt open - ended. Then I headed home.
I went back home to the countryside, where I told him about the beautiful flowering trees that bloomed during the spring.
Since the graduation happened at the tail end of spring, the wind blowing beautifully as I stepped out of the carriage - for some reason this dream was in a bygone era. probably early 1900s.
I saw him standing underneath the flowering trees, staring through them at the horizon where the outlines of the Appalachian mountains could be seen.

He turned and smiled at me, and then ran towards me, as he began running towards me, I started running towards him, throwing my diploma over my shoulder, hitching up my dress I had changed into, kicking off my heels. Then it was one of those romanticly stupid into his arms, twirling, a kiss... Then a summer breeze with petals blowing through. and I woke up.

At the time of this dream I was dating someone who honesty I thought was the one, but we didn't last. But he also never gave me the same feeling of this person.

I've dreamed many romantic dreams, but the feeling of this one was so different. I feel like it was me reliving a past love.
