John 8:12When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

I am LDS, I am disillusioned by the church. I served overseas in the military, and my first Branch President tried forcing me to go on a mission. I got called to a mission, after I told this Branch President I didn't want to go. Well, he decided that I wasn't going on a mission, he would STRIP me of all my callings. So, I am not going now and don't care if I see another Mormon as long as I live

I am the great, great granddaughter of Wilford Woodruff, the fourth president of the Mormon Church. I already knew all that you shared. My grandparents, Vernon and Millie Woodruff, left the Mormon church, a few years before my dad was born, and became Seventh-day Adventists. There is a book written about their departure called The Valley of D

I was raised Catholic, I don't believe Mormonism just like I don't truly believe Catholicism.  What I say to those who dislike Mormons is: back off.  They are good, successful, and productive citizens for the most part.  I can find loopholes in every major religion, and the "big" questions we have will never truly be solved.  If the Church of Latter Days Saints is what keeps one being a good, productive person and citizen, then more power to them. Some of the best people I've ever met are Mormon. Judge them on how they live

I’m surprised Mormonism and Scientology have not died out just because of common sense.

I joined LDS for 1 year back when i was about 18 or 19 years. Reason why i left go quick was that everything in the mormon church was mainly about Josephs Smith. it was like smith was worshiped as a god and i didnt like that and also i dug more into his past life he didnt have a good history i didnt like what i was seeing.

he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Baptism for the dead is mentioned in (1 Corinthians 15:29) as proof of a physical resurrection, though the exact meaning of the phrase is an open question among scholars. The plainest reading of the Greek text suggests vicarious baptisms performed by the living on behalf of the deceased, but some scholars dispute whether Paul approved of the practice or whether the verse truly refers to an actual physical practice among early Christians. The LDS now doesn't believe that Joseph Smith is going to judge anyone but Jesus and his disciples. The Book of Mormon is just a journal from a family with 4 sons and 2 of them causing wars through generations until they disappear. My dad is a freemason also and those symbols might be similar but not used constantly and not everyone can go to the temple. The garments are just a physical representation of a covenant just like the ropes of the Catholic priest but not shown. I like the new teachings and how the church has adapted and changed through time. Not all members are "Utah Mormons" that are the hardcore ones, in my house we were more relaxed like many are outside Utah. One provocative story about where the Book of Mormon I read was comparing it to Judith and the Maccabees also. All "Mormons" know all this but they will tell you that they don't care because the teachings now are right and they had prayed about it. What other religion lets you ask God if what they are saying is true? Name one. Everyone's journey is different and we believe what we think is best. No church is perfect and no church has the whole truth.

Acts 5:34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;
35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.
36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.
37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.
38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:
39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is authentic, real and true Holy Scripture. I know it and I testify of it.

Why some people spent so much time – criticizing other’s people faith and belief. In which they are not hundred percent sure on what they are claiming about other’s church doctrine. We don’t see the AIR around us but we all believe it is the source of our life. Because you don’t see (yet) the real truth about other’s people church doctrine, no body had the right’s to say any words against other’s belief. It will only mislead other’s belief to the truth. (In which Truth remain True no matter how others believe it or not – it stay and remain TRUE) So why not we respect others belief and stay being humble that maybe someday ~ ~ we will be granted to see the Real Truth. ~ ~ ~ Pray Sincerely

As a non church going, never raised with religion, never having read the bible, disbeleiver of god and Jesus..my life has led me to now, as an older woman..that I feel deeply drawn to a higher power..I cannot explain it..I try to deny it, I have sought counselors, doctors, others advice. I am an avid beleiver in science and logic.. but.. her I am.. I am not crazy, sick, but I have gotten to this point without church and religion. It perplexes me, I have been scared as I have no explanation but that there is a higher power.. I do not need church to have god. Recently I met some elders from the LDS church..they have graciously talked to me on several occasions.. they listen, do not preach and are very kind. Even though I have told them I have no thought of going to church.. they are kind. I also met some other members who have been kind and gracious. I beleive all churches and all faiths have issues. And the bible itself is an unsettling read. Why is the Book of Mormon any different from the bible. Possibly both written by men with human error.. look past the books, the churches, the religions and love thy neighbor as best you can. Maybe base your god in yourself. If everyone needs something to beleive in to exist in this world, let them have it. It's all love. ❤

It's time that I settle this.

Joseph Smith was a 14-year-old boy (my age), who was confused as to which church he should join. He considered joining the Methodist church, but he wasn't so sure when other churches were mocking him. One day, he was reading James 1:5, which reads: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." He "decided to do as James directs. That is, ask of God." So, he went into the Sacred Grove, got onto his knees, and "began to offer up the desires of my heart to God." -Joseph Smith History 1, verse 15.

You want proof that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God? Well, the devil tried to stop him, as Satan was DESPERATE. If Joseph Smith succeeded, then man would know the truth, which had been lost for about 1800 years. Satan could not allow that to happen, so he attempted to intervene. "I had scarcely done so, when immediately I was seized upon by some power which entirely overcame me, and had such an astonishing influence over me as to bind my tongue so that I could not speak. Thick darkness gathered around me, and it seemed to me for a time as if I were doomed to sudden destruction." -Joseph Smith History 1, verse 15.

Joseph Smith had endurance. "But, exerting all my powers to call upon God to deliver me from this enemy which had seized upon me, and at the very moment when I was ready to sink into despair and abandon myself to destruction-not to the power of an imaginary ruin, but to the power of some actual being from the unseen world, who had such marvelous power as I had never before felt in any being-just at this moment of great alarm, I saw a pillar of light exactly over my head, above the brightness of the sun, which descended gradually until it fell upon me." -Joseph Smith History 1, verse 16.

Now what was it that Joseph Smith saw? "It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other- 'This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him.'" -Joseph Smith History 1, verse 17.

How do I know that the LDS church is the only true church? The Lord, Jesus Christ, said to Joseph: "I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: 'they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.'" -Joseph Smith History 1, verse 19.

You believe what you want, but I know more than the existence of the Earth, that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and that the LDS church was restored by the hand of the Lord.

Anyone who claims that their church is "God's true church" or the true church" worships their church and not God.

The Book of Mormon is true. It testifies of Jesus Christ and His divinity as the the Son of God and the Messiah. It is one of the many records of the "other sheep" that Christ spoke of who would hear His voice. "And other sheep I have which are not of this fold, and them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice and there shall be one fold and one shepherd" (John 10:16). One day we will have many records of many people that believed in Christ all across the earth through all generations of time. God has revealed His teachings to all nations, kindreds, and people that they might have eternal life and be perfected in Christ, even as He said Himself in Matthew 5:48 "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." We cannot truly verify any of the specific events of history. Even the reality of the moon landing is up for speculation to some people. We gain spiritual knowledge by faith in Jesus Christ. At the end of the Book of Mormon, the prophet Moroni leaves us these words: "and when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost" (Moroni 10:4). A similar promise is echoed in James 1:5, teaching that if any of us lack wisdom we may ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not. Shall we not seek knowledge by faith and not conspiracy? "To the law and to the testimony; and if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them" (Isaiah 8:20). This is my testimony. It is true. I know it, and I know that God knows it, and I cannot deny it.
