I'll give this a shot. I'm 79 and think I still have reasonably good balance. Every morning as I brush my teeth with my left hand (I'm right handed) I stand on one foot, . looking forward, alternating right foot and left foot. Once upon a time I could do this with my eyes closed, but that was then. But, anything for the cause of balance!

I'm 74 and trying to recover strength and coordination after Covid inactivity. I'm now doing a 3 mile walk 3 days a week up and down a pretty steep hill. Balance is more of a problem than strength. Your videos are giving me insights.
Thank you.

I love your videos, fellas. They are becoming more and more essential as I age. Regarding balance, I have a little trick I have used for years(and I’m 74). When I brush my teeth I stand on one foot for the bottom and one foot for the top, trying to do a minute on each. I find that it is really important to keep the small muscles and tendons in the lower leg, ankle, and foot strong to maintain good balance too and this has helped me. Plus, I have the sink to grab or hold should I need it!

Great exercise! I am 78 and have pretty darned good balance, but do keep working at it. I do a lot of proprioception exercises with my agility dogs, so now I can join them!! Thanks for the new tips. Love your videos. How is Bob doing? We miss him.

Not going to lie. I got excited when I saw solo cups, figuring that beer was somehow now going to help my balance instead of hurt it! Good stuff. I'm only in my early '60s, but I want to stay ahead of these things. What works today might not as well next year.

These videos are ver helpful! I am a 74 year old female. I suffer lumbar stenosis and it’s past the moderate stages where my legs give way at times, plus I have a lot of foot trouble, spurs, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinitis…and of course I am overweight. I do some chair exercises for strength in my feet and legs, I had a TRKR two years ago…my right leg still feels weak when it comes to steps. I have neuropathy in both feet (not diabetic). I want too be able to keep going and doing…I definitely need to WORK ON MY BALANCE! Thank you for all you do. I’ve watched you a long time. Tell Bob hello and he’s missed and loved too! Mike is awesome too!

My mom, who is 81 y/o started Line Dancing with a Seniors group.
I doubt she will ever shuffle her feet like I see a lot of 80 year olds do.
I just started working on a Rebounder. The a lot of balancing for sure.
Praying for Bob! You're so missed.

I'm going to search the older videos to look for a Rebounder one. (Hope Bob & Brad made one.)

As a motorcyclist, I like to practice being able to go ahead while looking around and behind.
So, I present a hardcore version, if you want to challenge yourself:

Do these exercises while looking around in your room. Behind, above, to the sides. Change where you look while you move your legs. It can be learned, but there are some really tricky spots: for me especially when I look above and to the side, then look above and to the other side.

Good to see you Bob, even just in the corner of the screen for a couple of seconds. You guys are lovely and have so much love for each other. Good on you.

Huge for seniors since falls can become a very big problem that only leads to larger problems and complications.. great video.

These are great.
I'm 59 and very active and these are easy but definitely a good addition to my balance and proprioceptive activities I already do❤
And these are easy to teach to others.😊😊

Thank you for mentioning hip replacement. Some of us are still not sure what is allowed even after restrictions have been lifted.

Hi Mike and Brad! Hi Bob! Mike your balance is pretty good! Thanks for sharing these with us, I'll attempt but might be a tad difficult for me. I'll be sure to forward to someone who can benefit from these too. Enjoy your day! See y'all next video! Toodles!

The gluteus medius and minimus muscles work together to promote hip abduction (the movement of the leg away from the body) and prevent hip adduction (the movement of the leg toward the body). They stabilize the hip and help us balance.
