Day 6 of our 7-Day Get Stronger in 10 Minutes Challenge will improve your balance and help prevent falls.

This balance workout to prevent falls for seniors features 5 exercises that will help you improve the 3 sensory systems responsible for balance: the visual, vestibular and proprioceptive systems. These sensory systems send information to the brain about where the body is in space. The visual system tells you where your body is in relation to what you see in the environment; the vestibular system tells you the position and movement of your head; and the proprioceptive system provides information about where the body is in space based on muscle and joint activity.

April, this was a great balance exercise! So sweet when you were talking about keeping your eyes open while looking up and down, Mochi came in to be petted, along with rubbing on you, before getting in the chair. I thought Aiko was going to lose it when Mochi jumped in her chair as I know she could feel him touching her back. You didn't "Dilly Dally" with the tai chi movements and some yoga April, these are excellent movements for balance and breathing. Thanks for this 10-minute video and for the reminders while marching. 💞 😻🐈

Great workout for balance! I was surprised how wobbly I was. I intend to include this Day 6 two or three times a week. I know that balance is critical to safety and safety is critical to independence. I am so glad I'm doing Yes2Next with y'all! Thanks!

I missed yesterday, but will catch up with it today. I loved this balance workout. I especially liked the many options you presented for progressing. So very important at my age to be aware of balance and to practice it. Thank you for this wonderful demonstration.
