My older son has been driving my 2007 corolla for 2yrs. He’ll be ha ding it over to his younger brother in 6 months. I’ve kept up the maintenance, bought it brand new. She’s only got 155k miles and runs great.

Bought my '03 Matrix new, my daughter came along in '06. This year she got her license, having learned in the Matrix. So now it's hers. 185k on the clock, never an issue. I miss the car, but don't fret; I found an '04 Camry XLE for $2k, 230k miles, did a timing kit and struts, and it purrs like a kitten. TO-O-O-OYATA!

I've had both a mazda 2 and a corolla, both 2010 models. Absolutely brilliant cars. cheap on fuel, $30-40 for a tank that lasts a solid few weeks to a month of travelling locally. 7yrs later they're both still going strong.

I agree 💯 with you. My first car was a 1989 Toyota Corolla with all the options. It cost 3, 400 had a sunroof too. I think it had a 10 gallon gas tank. It cost back than about $10 to fill it up. Gas was 99 cents a gallon. Never gave me any problems until around 200k. The timing chain broke. I junked it. I should have held on to it. Perfect first car

Yes! The GR corolla is the best first car to tune to 500 horsepower. Made in Japan.

For the kids get a manual trans. Both eyes, feet and hands occupied for driving. Easier/cheaper maintenance. Plus the friends can’t borrow it.

I used to drive these Toyota Corollas when I was a member of Zipcar. They drove great and were peppy on the highway. I loved cruising along at 75 mph on the expressway in a Corolla.

I have a 2006 Corolla LE with 291k & so far so good with just regular maintenance. Even though Toyota calls for 5 mos/5K oil changes, I've done them at 4 mos/4K since I bought this new in 2006. This may have been helpful.

"You don't have to buy a new one"
Just bought a new one 2 months ago lol. Love it. Mine is a hybrid and gets 50 mpg on average. Less than 10 gallons of gas will get me 500 miles. Car magazines love the new prius but i recommend the corolla hybrid over it any day. Gets the same gas mileage for 4000+ less.

Got a 2021 corolla back in January, been loving it. Only has 52000 miles so it’s not even broken in yet

Toyota Corolla is very good for everybody regardless of the age. I am retired and driving Corolla. Far better than my Camry for the pocket book. I love my Corolla.
