A Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician shares the Best and Worst Used Toyota models to buy from experience.

In this video I will share my professional opinion on the best Toyota models to buy and the Worst Toyota models to buy and some car buying advice as well.

People ask me all the time what's the best Used Toyota to buy and I often see people recommend cars which are actually not good buys just because they had a good one. I work on Toyota models exclusively and I have seen each models rise and fall.

When we eventually get to the worst Toyota models some viewers will feel offended as their car might be mentioned. If you have one of the cars that I listed as the worst and it's been good, I am very happy. However know that the information in this video doesn't come from "consumer reports" It comes from over 10 years of actual real world experience fixing Toyotas every day.

Towards the end of the video I will share some general Toyota buying advice. Avoid at all costs buying severely rusted Toyotas and relevant to the current times we live in, NEVER over pay for a Toyota no matter what!

I own a 2012 Toyota Camry Hybrid, purchased new. Last year, it failed to start. The problem turned out to be the 10-year-old OEM 12-volt battery. With over 10 years and 100k miles, we have replaced the 12-volt battery, the brake pads once, and a rear-wheel speed sensor once, and I'm on my third set of tires. That's all!

I have a 2007 Toyota Corolla and she’s still kicking at 191, 000 miles and really haven’t had any issues just standard maintenance costs like new break pads. Not leaking any oil, gets about 30 mpg. Definitely agree that’s a good oldie to have 😊

Man… our 1998 Corolla was the first reliable car we have ever owned. It’s still running today AC still blowing ice cold/ original power train. Almost 400k miles. But we did notice rust near the gas tank. The door handles break every other year lol but thankfully they are 6$ each. Besides that… It has been very bullet proof, it never shut off on us or left us stranded for 23 years. We do 85-88 Mph on the highway and it doesn’t struggle.

I have always loved the 4 Runner and occasionally on the look out for a well maintained one from a private owner, 2002-2005-6 One of my 2 favorite vehicles which I have the other. 2002 Dodge Durango which I still have. Bought off private owner 10 years ago who only used it on summer vacations. Still in excellent shape as I always take care of it. 163, 300 miles. People ALWAYS asking if I want to sell it... 😂Never. Used car prices so high that I should have looked harder for a 4Runner after pandemic. I still keep a look out for one when out driving. Great video. I love all of your detailed information.

I have a coworker with a 2005 corolla. He has over 400k miles and still runs like a dream and he still uses original weight oil. Amazing.

You're absolutely right about the 2000/2001 Camrys. I bought my 2001 XLE V6 for dirt cheap over 7 years ago with over 150k already on it and I've still never had a major problem with it. Even now at about 250k it still drives just as well as it did the day I bought it. I'm convinced this car will outlive me lol.

6-7 years ago I purchased an used 2007 Camry Hybrid that had the oil burning problem. Luckily, I found out that I could take it to Toyota for this issue to be fixed. Today, the car is nearing the 300, 000 miles mark and still going strong.
