Very expensive cars, they are now sold for more than the original price. Sad how everyone thinks all of EU has the same car prices and salaries as UK. These cars are almost new. Try looking at cars from around 2010, that means a used car.

I don't think that people looking for used cars (especially on a budget) are necessarily looking for the "toys" and all the bells and whistles. At least I didn't when I bought my 2011 Mazda 3 BL.

Keep in mind that low running costs doesn't include low fuel consumption only. How much you spend on repairs and servicing is even more crucial in older, used vehicles.

What's the best choice now? For a 2017 family car? Stelvio? X3? Qx5? Volvo? Kodiaq? Lexus nx, but I hate the cvt. Or other? Is there anything that can withstand the rigors? I know it depends on the user, how much he owned the given car, but can the statistics give a direction somewhere, or what should not be bought? a new vw polo costs 20, 000 euros, but there is no room for those packages anymore. What I like is the Nissan xtrail, but it costs 42, 000 euros. that's a lot..

These are absolutely laughable choices. The fact there's more than one Vauxhall makes me wonder about the legitimacy of this journalism at all. There's just no way the Insignia is the best used car in its segment. Aside from actually better cars you could mention in most of these categories, there's certainly more reliable used choices. The mention of Jaguar made me chuckle for sure.

Vauxhall Corsa EV is a shitbox (cant talk for the others) But the ev is...well..a shitbox. You dont even sit straight in it
