Do I REGRET Switching from Android to iOS? 2 Years Later!

Almost 2 years ago, I decided to switch to iPhone from what had up until that point, basically been a lifetime on the Android operating system. In today's video, I talk about my experience with using an iPhone from an Android users perspective, what I like, what I don't and whether or not I'll be switching back anytime soon...

I'm a platform agnostic. I use both Samsung and Apple products. Android and iOS both have some great things to offer.

The phone that changed my mind about iPhones is the Galaxy S10+, since the day i bought it in early 2019, it's been a pleasure to use

iOS is simple and neat even though they’re copying some features from android they do it more ‘clean’. but as i’ve seen from samsung’s one UI they’re doing great, they’ve become consistent and making the experience like apple; simple and neat. It really goes down now to your preference, android or ios...

i will always choose android. while i really enjoy the design and aesthetics of iphones, being able to download apks are a must for me. this is the only thing keeping me locked in the android side

Nice review ! Actually I was in the same boat 2 months ago . Been with android for like 8 years and finally pulled the trigger and went for the iPhone 12 . Tbh I am very happy with it . Cameras is good, battery is good, screen is good (I got used to the notch fast) and day 1 updates . Oh God, those fast updates and fixes are like heaven . Nothing like android ones ! iOS is kinda limited but, it works so good and fluid . No slowing, no lag, nothing . It just works so good and fast . I even plan on holding my 12 for atleast 2 years ! I was kinda scared to do it because I am a type of guy who likes using custom launchers, icon packes and etc . So much customizations . But now I really don't care . Keep up the good work ! Cheers .

Very well said, sir! I think I switched around the same time you did, from an S8+ as well lol. Had the iPhone X and when the XS Max came out, I remembered how much I missed the S8+'s big display and upgraded to the Max. Been using it ever since late 2018 and never looked back. Apple's ecosystem is indeed very pleasant.

I'm considering switching to an I phone. I've been using android all my life. Your video has helped me make my decision. Thanks.

I was on the opposite side of the scale, iPhone user until I switched to android 2 years ago (s10plus). I'm loving this android, and the only reason I'm contemplating going back to Apple is just for app availability (i.e. Clubhouse, stocks, etc). But losing the versatility that android brings me is too much to bare :( I'm torn!!!

I used to have a Xiaomi Mi 8 Lite (even with 2 years of use and still looks brand new. A really good phone I have to say) that I used for everything: work, games, music, travel, photos, social. It was hard to change to iOS especially cause I use many google things for work, but I got a good promo for an iPhone 11 from my phone carrier, and well, no regrets so far. The camera, sound, and video recording are the best I have seen so far. Missing customization though... Google services are somehow working as expected, smooth transition (maps, photos, Gmail, youtube music, contacts, calendar, chrome, authenticator), build quality was good (but my Xiaomi was somehow really close).

If you are planning to migrate from Android to iPhone be ready to buy new headphones or an adapter at least. Not my case since I have wireless ones; but I thought about this watching this video. Also, all the games and apps you bought on Android are lost :c at least some games let you migrate your progress. And finally, it is hard to change habits, especially with gestures from Andriod. It is a matter of time but by now I will continue opening the app from the notification center instead of wiping it

Great video 🤩

I'm using both Android and iOS and really agree with everything. Both have positives and negatives.

In my personal case, although I use iOS a lot for work, in general I'm leaning more to the Android side with my new Motorola.
This android one project is amazing and I'm really impressed with how much Android progressed in the last years.

I think if u can have both, have them.
If you need to choose nowadays is kind of difficult to find really bad phones.

I used to have iPhones. But when I bought my own it was android. But it's always important to be honest about the fact that both iPhones and androids mostly caters to different markets. They both have pros and cons. For my brother who wants a simple phone that works his iPhone is great for that. For me that wants a bit more control over my phone my android is great for that

I have an S10+ and it's great. It still has I believe 1 or 2 more years of OS updates as well as 3 more years of security patches. Considering it's a 2 year old phone, I think that's pretty decent (not on iPhone level where some of their phones get like 6+ years of support, but not bad). Performance is still great, the cameras are also solid, and the battery is also very good. However, I do agree with you on that Samsung phones have gotten more delicate. I use an Otterbox Defender Pro so I don't have the problem of cracking it (even though I have dropped it a few times), but I definitely wouldn't feel comfortable dropping it without a case from a height of more than like a meter. Android fragmentation is also something that has plagued the OS but it's definitely gotten better (and there's also the option of custom ROMs if you're into that). If you check out any Android phones, I think the Galaxy S10 line up of phones is a good place to start, as well as the Pixel 4a. If you do newer Android phones you have to check out the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Based off recent comparisons I think it has better video than the iPhone 12 Pro Max (for the first time since the S7 vs. iPhone 6 days), and the stills have been on par for awhile now but this year I think Samsung surpassed everyone, including Pixel as well.

I hung onto my BlackBerry 8310 far longer than I should have and then skipped Android and went to iOS starting with the iPhone 3GS, which was a great device at the time. While I've stuck with iOS, I have bought a few inexpensive Android devices over the years to mess with and have really liked them. I agree with your point about Android devices offering lots of options. I like the fact that I can go pickup a decent smart phone from the corner store and it doesn't have to cost a fortune. Great intro, as always!
