It seems that younger people regret things they've done and older people regret things they haven't done.

Notice how 99% of the adult's regrets start with 'not'.
You don't regret what you did, you regret what you didn't do.
Take a chance in life and do what you're scared to do!

People who didn't go to school regret not going. People who went to school regret not trying harder. People who tried hard regret not enjoying their time. There's always positives and negatives to our choices, best to focus on the positive rather than regret the negative.

I'm 22 and my one regret is waiting. Waiting for a "perfect time" before I do something, anything. Waiting for an opportunity to come by. Waiting for other people to catch up to me. Waiting for a perfect moment to say what I need to say. And many many more. So I guess, if there's any take away it's to just stop waiting. Because yeah good things come to those who wait but remember that greater things come to those who make it happen.

I really resonate with the 31 year old. I'm 19 now, my biggest regret was watching peers around me get made fun of, excluded, alienated, etc in middle/high school and not doing anything about it. It wasn't my fault that they were bullied but I feel that to an extent I'm also responsible for seeing and allowing it to happen. It breaks my heart thinking about how it may have affected these kids having to come to a place 5 days a week for 7 hours where they don't even feel like they belong. Stand up for people, you never know how much it can mean to someone for even just one person to show that they care.

I’m 18 and my three biggest regrets probably are:
1) Not being more social and active in high school.
2) Quitting sports
3) Not asking out the girl I liked before she moved away.

I’m 21. I try not to live with regrets, I believe everything happens for a reason and whatever happens in our lives shapes us into the people we are at present. That being said I do regret not living in the moment at times in my life. Too much time overthinking, being distracted, etc. Learning to put the phone down will really help with that

I am 18 years old and I regret two things: 1-not having lived my adolescence in the best way and not having made friends because of my social anxiety 2-not having taken advantage of all the free time I had as a child and adolescent to learn and do new things

So the 5-year-old's biggest regret is having to answer her biggest regret when she could be at the playground instead 😂

The regrets are getting more and more depressing each age

It seems no matter what you do you would regret something. Whatever choice you happen to make, you’ll miss out on the other. So you might as well focus your energy on what you’re grateful for rather than regrets. ❤

I regret not dating when I was younger. I then learnt the hard way what people can be about, narcissism, gas lighting, abuse, I just didn’t have the tools to identify red flags nor did I have a point of reference…. It took me years to grow my emotional intelligence cause I also always avoided people and drama and also I learnt to trust myself more.

Now I’m with the man not of my dreams cause he’s way better than what my mind could concoct.
