I think China has a good chance of beating the US to the Moon. We're moving toward this goal way to slowly, compared to when we went to the Moon the first time.

Chinese is so smart, they are totally on their own to create their own space program include their own very accurate GPS system. Landed on moon and Mars in one attempt !! They even retrieved soil from moon to the Earth. Building their own space station is so smooth with no failure. Everything is 100% made in China with no help from other countries. Their next project include building a manned base on the moon and a reusable space shuttle. It seems most of their projects are done quietly. They don't need to tell the world. And they don't waste their resources to bully the world or invade other countries for oil or for control.

Seriously, LM9 with 11 diameter is for good luck, because 11 is a lucky number? Give me a break. 11 isn't considered a lucky number at all in Chinese culture. If CNSA is so superstitious as you said, they wouldn't use the bad luck number 4 in their mission, such as Chang'e 4, Shenzhou-4, Shenzhou-14, Tianzhou-4, and the entire LM4 series. The change of the diameter is purely for scientific reasons, such as the requirements of its targeted payload or the increased engine capabilities, etc.

Due to the US refusal to allows China to participate in space exploration and the US even passed law like the Wolf Amendment in 2011 to banned China from engaging in direct, bilateral cooperation regarding space exploration and scientific experiments. As a result, China decided to build its own space station. It is a new beginning for China and the world outside the US and the West to do scientific experiments and collaborating with one another on scientific discoveries. Space exploration expands new technology, create new industries, and help to foster a peaceful connection with other nations. China has given the world the opportunity to do scientific experiments and allow other countries to used its space station and has signed agreements with the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs on space station cooperation. It is an opportunity for China and other countries to participate in scientific experiments in space and new discoveries. The Tiangong Space Station is capable of long-term human habitation in near-Earth space, with systematic support by space transport and widely covered tracking, telemetry, command and communication as well as microgravity science that uses microgravity conditions to study the movement of matter and basic physical laws. The Chinese Space Station is fully open to international researchers, and guides for the open solicitation of research proposals will be regularly issued under bilateral cooperation agreements.
