Today we’ve got another camera gear video comin' at cha! Today we're talking about the Atomos Ninja V. Is the Atomos Ninja V worth it? How does the Ninja V footage compare to my sony a6300 footage?

I talk all about my reasons for buying the Atomos Ninja V for my Sony a6300. The great monitoring functions the Atomos Ninja V has, and the benefits for external recording on the Atomost Ninja V. We also do an image comparison between the internal sony footage to the external Atomos Ninja V footage. The difference was shocking for me!

Awesome video I have it paired with my A7iii and it looks Rad, I have a question would it be a smart move to sell my A7iii and get the Nikon Z6, I just wanna which camera would have the best filmic movie quality, I shoot some short film project and music videos I get good quality but with the 12Bit ProRes Raw update that’s coming for the z6 you think it would be better to go with the z6?

Magenta difference that you see on sony file it's because of all Adobe products didn't read well .mp4 file or some headers of this container.
If you load it in Davinci it will be almost the same. Found this issue when removing objects in AE.

Does the touch auto focus works with Ninja V?

I want to ask you ? Does the Ninja Five screen give a difference to the video shooting of the Sony 6400 or FS5 cameras, and are they compatible with them, or are they for specific cameras, and do you recommend that I have them?

You're totally right about the skin tones. I shoot on the A7iii and have to work really hard in post to colour correct the skin to look right. The Ninja seems to be able to get this right before any corrections.

It may be my etnicity, but I vote Ninja. Really all I understood was no overheating Sony, no 30 min record limit and better picture. Good job.

Ive heard that for final cut pro X users using the pro res file it way easier to work on for the mac.

Hey dude I'm full of questions here because I'm going to get an Atomos recorder for my 1Dxii which already shoots 4k 60, the website suggests I but the ninja flame but I like the look and specs of the ninja V instead, I'm assuming I could get either of them, some bigger questions is it as easy as buying the monitor with its accessories and it's ready to start recording or is there something out of the ordinary that I'd have to do to get it up and running, lastly what's the deal with audio recording? Can I use the monitor to record the footage and use the camera to capture the audio because I checked out the Atomos recording and it seemed like more work and accessories unless you have something to debunk that, any other advice would be very much appreciated and thanks in advance

Nice comparison! I was doing some of my own yesterday and found mostly the same results with the Atomos being a tad more contrasty than the internal on both Sony S-LOG3 and Canon c-log. However my S-LOG2 had a lot more contrast internal vs the Atomos. I was able to match everything with various tweaks in color correction.
How do the shadows compare? I noticed more noise with the Atomos in the ungraded image. Thanks man!

Dude! I could tell your skin tones looked better in the Monday challenge vid bc of the Ninja V - but seeing them side-by-side like this is UNREAL how much better they are!! Prores 4:2:2 FTW!!!

Really need some help here. I tried my ninja v with sony ax100 and a7riii. But none of them shows any difference between footage from internal and external recording... They look absolute the same to me when I compared them. But in your video there appears to be a obvious difference. What have I done wrong?
