Haha 'The Crucible' = Screaming. Some great questions and love your answers. Totally want to do this tag!

Oh man, those cloth-bound editions are so beautiful. I've got Dracula and Northanger Abbey and I just want every book in that collection. Also, I think it's more of a modern classic but my favourite classic is The Princess Bride :)

I really enjoy my old copies of the classics! I have old, tattered copies printed in the 40's and 50's and the history that those pages know astounds me. There is always an 'excuse' to have 'ugly' copies of books--if you love them, have them!

Choosing the book to movie adaptations is always difficult if you have a particular connection with the book, I always find. But when they get it right (like in the case of your favourite and one I am super fond of too), then boy do they get it right. I loved the movie version of Atonement, novel by Ian McEwan, it was filled with all the intrigue and emotion that the book was brimming with and I felt it really did the novel justice.

You. Me. Jane Eyre. Happening.
As always thank you kindly for the tag, my friend! I promise to get to this sooner rather than later. I have read quite a few classics in my day, but there are still a butt load that I need to get on with. This is a very lovely reminder of that. Also, I kind of feel like I feel for the 1995 adaptation of Sense and Sensibility the way that you feel about 2005's Pride and Prejudice. Life, love, Darcy. (Well, in my case, Colonel Brandon.) Let's just face it, Jane Austen knows how to write the perfect man. *The end.*

Really interesting answers! I'll be sure to check them out soon. 1984 was an important read for me! The appendix at the end about the politics of language was probably my favourite part of the book. 1984 was basically was what led me to read The Handmaid's Tale, which is also a good book.

I saw that Doctor Faustus production that you mentioned! It was brilliant, wasn't it? I heard Marlowe's version is thematically different from Goethe's, which is what I'm planning to tackle next.

Thanks for tagging me! I know I've read more classics then I can think of right now so it's gonna take some thinking before I record but I can't wait! Looks like fun. :)

Two things: one, 1984 is my favorite book of all time ever! I know some people hate it, but 9th grade me loved it and adult me still loves it, so I always get excited when someone wants to read it for the first time! Second, you are totally wearing a Litographs shirt in this video. Which one is it (I have Frankenstein!)?

Thank you so much for the kind words, you are so sweet :) Peter Pan is something I have yet to read and because it's your favourite fairytale I will definitely have to. I also have to read 1984,   I tried to pick it up last year but couldn't get into it. I think I just wasn't in the mood. You need to read Jane Eyre asap, it is absolutely fantastic and my one of my favourites. I've been seeing The Song of Achilles everywhere and I think the universe is telling me that I need to buy it and read it, it just sounds incredible. I made the mistake by watching Winters Tale before reading the book and I think it ruined it for me. I may have to read the book in 5 years time when I have forgotten the movie. The drop caps editions are absolutely gorgeous and I want to collect some of them. The vintage classics are beautiful and some of my favourites as well. THE HANDMAIDS Great video Adriana, I really enjoyed it :)

I just filmed this tag, and I need to get it edited and posted.  Love me some classics!
I like "Peter in Kensington Gardens" better than "Peter Pan".  He's younger and more innocent, so I like it better. No pirates though, and no Wendy.
Emma is my fave Austen book!  It's just delightful.  Jane Eyre is my fave classic ever in the whole world! So much love!
Can't wait to see your reviews of those books.

Thanks so much for tagging me!! I'll have to tally up how many classics I've read, and if it's not enough for this tag, I'll save it and definitely do it later, because I really like it! Omg the screaming in The Crucible movie, too true. Since you haven't read 1984 yet, have you read Animal Farm ? Oh I started the Pandora Hearts manga this summer, but I put it down for a bit and haven't picked it back up, I want to though, how does the anime compare ?

Hello~. Pride and Prejudice also gives me life! (I'm buddy-reading it right now and it's so awesome. So awesome.)

I subscribed to your channel today and I just wanted to say (before I binge-watch everything) that I think you're awesome and your recommendations are really interesting.

... I should start a booktube channel myself one of these days. Have a brilliant day~.

P.S. Speaking of classics, you should read Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier and The House on the Strand also by her. They're soooo good. Hnngh.

LOL, oh no, I feel so bad about your horrible "Crucible" experience. I love that play (probably my favorite play that isn't Shakespeare). I think a bad movie adaptation for me goes to "The Scarlet Letter" with Demi Moore and Gary Oldman. My god that was cringe-worthy. I had just finished reading the book and the movie happened to be on TV so I watched it and was horrified, haha! There's lots of classics I'm embarrassed I haven't read yet, but I think at the top would be "Dorian Gray." That's so ingrained in pop culture and I can't believe I've never gotten around to it. Had fun watching and seeing what books you picked!

I really want to read The Winter's Tale! Sucks that the movie wasn't that good.

I'm going to have to troll through my Goodreads list to see what I've read that qualifies as "classic".  I know sometimes I forget about the modern classics.
