I'm living for this because I love classics. They have one half of my heart. The other half belongs to Stephen King. One thing I wanted you to know is that you got me to pick up Wuthering Heights after years of hesitation. And I LOVE IT! As a matter of fact, I'm half way and I am slowing down because I don't want it to end. I am shocked at just how much I love it. All of these years I put it off and now I'm wondering what else I've put off for years based on a few people's reviews? Anyway, thank you for the push I needed, Juan. I also agree that it's better than Jane Eyre. I can't believe I'm saying that, either. It's been a week of having my mind blown with literature. I'm loving it!

I can’t believe about Jane!!! But I agree, if P&P was a dud for you then I’d say it’s good to drop. Great list here Juan, and thank you for the tag! : )

Experienced serious book envy over your copy of Diary of a Nobody.

I’m a big fan of Ruben Toledo’s illustrations. He has a very distinctive style.

That edition of The Scarlet Letter is so beautiful.
Also, I love the song Someday, so thanks for giving us a little taste of it.

I can't wait until you read and review Oliver Twist. I am looking forward to hearing you sing some of the fabulous songs from the musical based on the book.

Juan, can you share the publisher and edition of your Alice in Wonderland book?

Finally someone who also didn't enjoy pride and prejudice haha, I came to your channel because of your secret history ''''review'''' and for these two books we have the exact same thoughts and opinions, I have to sub! The way you describe books makes me want to buy everything you mention (and like lol)

Have you ever tried reading the classics of Henry James? Some famous examples of his work are: The Turn of the Screw, The Portrait of a Lady and Washington Square. I find his writing fascinating but not the easiest to read.

This tag is fun.
1. Overhypped classic for me...The Bell Jar but I love Silvia Plath
2. Best time period is Victorian era for me. I love authors from Victorian period... Thomas Hardy, Bronte, Gaskell, wilkie Collins and so many more
3. Favorite fairy tale ... the little mermaid
4. ? No answer here
5. I want to read the Dune series
6. The Goldfinch and The secret history. The first feel bit like Oliver Twist and second like Crime and Punishment. I love Donna Tartt.
7. The recent Emma adaptation of Jane Austen was awesome. Also like the North and South 3 part series and the Jane Eyre 3 part series.
8. Can't think of anything here
9. Folio society books would be nice but they are quite expensive. They have cool illustrations inside.
10. The Tanent of the Wildfell Hall by Anne Bronte and North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell.

I was just listening to someday by Boys2men yesterday... the Hunchback of ND is another amazing classic. Planning to reread this again.

Hi Juan. Do you have a Goodreads account? Would be cool to see the books you’ve read, perhaps see what your favorites are.

"Diary of a Nobody" is a somewhat over-hyped classic in my opinion.
"Augustus Carp, Esq., By Himself: Being the Autobiography of a Really Good Man" by Sir Henry Howarth Bashford is similar, but unjustly neglected and much funnier.
