I love the classics, so I though I'd share a few of my thoughts with the #classics #booktag.

I only started reading Classics a few years ago and I have come to love them! The Three Musketeers is on my _list_ of books that I want to read next year! Great tag, thanks for sharing! ❤️

Laughed at your description of Hansel and Gretel, a witch that eats children, it just gets better and better, LOL!

I also love Animal Farm but have never read 1984. I have never gotten around to reading it, but I do own a copy and hope to read it one day. I like Thomas Hardy. I read The Mayor of Casterbridge in high school and Tess of the d’Urbervilles a few year ago. I enjoyed both, but Tess is heart-wrenching.

Great Tag - I might have to have a go at this one! I really liked Tess of the D’Urbavilles by Hardy (it was pretty dark, which is probably why I liked it 😂), Madding Crowd is the next one I want to pick up by him

Hi Mitzi, it"s great to discover your channel. I have not read many of Thomas Hardy's novels but I think Far from the maddening crowd is perfect to start with. The characters are wonderful especially the heroine. I agree about the Netflix adaptation of Rebecca, so disappointing. It feels like they wanted to make the story more modern and appealing today but they failed. The Hitchcock film is the best adaptation of the novel, I think Laurence Olivier will be always be Max de Winter for me!

Agree with you totally re: The Awakening. The writing just wasn’t there for me either. Plot wise, it so should have been my kind of book.
(I have now watched all your videos so far. I can’t believe you’re new to this booktube thing.)
Oh, and yes, you should definitely read 1984. Not a ‘fun’ (or for me, all that enjoyable) read, but it’s referred to so often, as a reader of classics, it’s definitely worth the read!
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn is so so good. Packs a gut punch.
