I wish I knew this when I had braces. I had to use entire packs of wax in a day because I had to line every single one of my teeth top and bottom with wax because the brackets were cutting into my lips and cheeks daily. There was a lot of blood, I still have scars on the inside of my mouth from it. But they never gave me enough wax and when I asked for more they told me "you shouldn't be going through that much wax that fast" and refused me. God I do not miss braces

Bentist is 110% correct. I had some seriously gnarly stuff in my mouth when i was getting ortho work done. Wax is amazing if you take the time to apply it properly, dry the area, really warm it in your hand, and use enough to fit all the way round the bracket. But for daily wear and regular hot-spot use you are going to want what he is talking about in this vid.

guys one of the best things that worked for me was just letting the braces cut my mouth, and even though it hurt pretty badly, eventually my mouth built callus's and I didn't feel the wires anymore. Imo it was worth to go through some pain so that now I don't have to rely on wax all the time

As someone who has braces for almost 5 years (had to restart) it’s so much better to just let your mouth callous. If you get used to the wax you’ll have to keep buying it and keep dealing with it. I got used to my braces after a couple of days and never needed wax.
