Let’s talk about the best carbohydrate to help you lower your cholesterol.

In some cases, it’s not a problem if cholesterol is a little bit higher. This can happen when you first start the keto diet because you’re mobilizing cholesterol from the fat cells.

But what can you do if you need to lower bad cholesterol naturally? There is one specific food that can really help you.

Your body makes cholesterol. Excess cholesterol is eliminated through the bile ducts with the help of bile salts. Bile salts have a lot of important roles in the body.

Typically, carbohydrates will increase cholesterol and triglycerides. There are three types of carbohydrates: sugar, starches, and fiber. Fiber can actually help reduce your cholesterol, but it has to be the right type of fiber. We’re talking about the fiber in vegetables.

Vegetables have low amounts of sugar and high amounts of fiber. They’re also rich in nutrients, phytonutrients, vitamins, and minerals.

Fiber helps bind with cholesterol and modify the absorption of lipids and fats. It also increases the production of bile and eliminates bile connected to cholesterol.

Fiber has zero effect on blood sugar and insulin, which will help lower your cholesterol. Feeding your microbes fiber also decreases the production of cholesterol.

If you have high cholesterol, consume more vegetables to help increase the release of bile and feed the microbes. At the same time, be sure to avoid sugar and starch in your diet.

I am 67 and in great shape thanks to your advice. I eat mostly protein (meats, eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese) and raw vegetable salads. My total cholesterol was 200 and HDL was 99. I was so happy!! All my blood work was perfect! I will continue to take your advice.

Thank you for telling me what my doctor didn't explain. All my doctor wanted to do was prescribe something "new" that they don't know much about the side effects yet.

After Dr. Berg's videos on Sauerkraut I decided to try it, using only purple cabbage. 9 months later, I have less chest pain, lower cholesterol, and higher general health; my doctor is flabbergasted. Thank you for all you do Dr. Berg👑🏆

Both myself and my husband have lowered our cholesterol to normal levels by following your advice to leave 4 hours between meals so that blood sugar has a chance to lower. It works!

Two weeks ago I got my blood test results showing that I had a total cholesterol level of 168. Six months ago it was 207. I started eating vegetables and salads every day, one or the other for variety. My favorite are frozen veggies in 16oz packages that I microwave and then add seasonings and butter and I eat the entire thing, delicious. I know that veggies aren’t to everyone’s taste but I’m just sharing how I get my vegetables in, thanks to Dr. Berg’s advice.👍

Thanks Dr Berg! I cook up salmon and a half pound of bacon, let it cool chop it up and mix it in my salad. I season with sea salt, pepper, olive oil and apple cider vinegar to taste and its great! Sometimes I mash up avocado, thin it with water and season it to taste and use that as my dressing!

What I’m super impressed with is your Wheatgrass Juice Powder. I drink this everyday mixed in with unsweetened green tea. The pain in my gut is slowly going away and I believe I will always have to be careful with what I eat. I do have more testing to go through to track down my internal bleeding but the system is incredibly slow and my progress has strictly come from the changes in my eating habits, vitamins and minerals, light exercise and stress relief through the education of your videos! Please don’t ever stop!❤❤❤

Veggies???? So glad to hear that. We do enjoy our veggies. So tight with keto it was turning me off a bit. Now with this adjustment...it works. Thank goodness and thank you!!

Perfect timing. Just had my bloods back and my cholesterol isn’t particularly high, but my ratio to good/bad cholesterol isn’t great. I’m not overweight and my diet is good. So the info in this vid was very useful…. Thanks doc 👍🏻
