In that beautiful Jubilee moment this summer, when Paddington said “And thank you, Ma’am…for everything, ” I burst into tears. When the sad news was announced yesterday, I said it myself. Even the greatest lives are destined to end. My overwhelming feeling is one of gratitude for her life, her dedicated service, her steadfast heart, and her example. Thank you, River, for this respectful tribute. Writing from the USA.

I believe she died of a broken heart. Her health deteriorated rapidly after the death of her beloved husband. I think she was just holding on to celebrate her 70’ year on the throne, and now she is so deservingly resting next to her Phillip. She was an extraordinary woman. She will be greatly missed. 😢

That was really lovely River. I think the double rainbow was Elizabeth and Phillip looking over everyone letting them know that all was well.

The Queen didnt get 1 day off in her old age. She started the week appointing a new PM...
She ended the week in the arms of the Lord. What a powerful women. Loved, respected, cherished by billions across 70+ years.

I also grieved during the jubilee. The skit with Paddington Bear was touching and made me well up with tears. Especially when he said "Thank you Ma'am, for everything." When I think of the Queen I think "Elizabeth the Faithful".

I love that last picture of her - I thought she was smiling, thinking that she would be joining her beloved Phillip soon. She is at peace now, in the arms of her Lord, her beloved husband by her side. My heart grieves with our cousins in Britain. What a marvelous lady who served you all well. Much love from Houston, TX.

As an old woman myself, I'm thankful that her passing was relatively quick.
Rest in peace, Elizabeth the Constant.❤️

To me, Charles’ emotions being visible is not a weakness. It is obvious that he is grief-stricken, but nevertheless he will carry on and do what needs to be done. I think his speech was beautiful, heartfelt, clear, no word salad in sight. I believe Her Majesty closed her eyes in the knowledge that she could rest easy. Her legacy is in good hands.

The King’s address was marvelous! He was very gracious in his inclusion of his wayward son and spouse in his address. Following his mother’s example of Christian forgiveness. He’s a better man than me! I could not be so gracious.

The King's Speech was short and concise; stating the important points perfectly. I would say he drew a line under H and M's role for their future in the Royal Family.
He showed how much he appreciated and loved his parents, and in turn, how much he appreciated his wife Camilla, the Queen, and his son William and his wife Katherine. By immediately declaring that William was now the Prince of Wales, and that Katherine is the Princess of Wales the world now knows the King's feelings on the matter.
As for M&H, King Charles worded his ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of them as one would in a will; he named them -- simply as Harry and Meghan and that they would continue their new life in America.

Being an American I haven’t heard Charles speak a whole lot- his speech was very heartfelt & moving. He has a very calming presence.

I feel after the Her Majesty passed, Anne turned to her brother and said "God save the King." It is just the sort of class act one would expect from the Princess Royal.

I’m completely appalled at the reaction at a contingent here in the States. There were numerous Ugly Americans saying they were glad, and now Britain can get rid of the Monarchy. I was sickened and kept saying it’s none of our business. The British people did and still do love their Queen and Monarchy. Although it is not up to me, I do apologize for these imbeciles. Such ugliness at a time of mourning is disgusting. Charles needs to be given a chance. God Bless to all you British, numerous Americans are in bereavement.

Just watched the first speech made by King Charles III. I felt it was absolutely wonderful.
The dear Queen has left your nation in very good hands.
Well done, Elizabeth the Loved.

River, she's out of pain, reunited with her loved ones and finally able to rest after a whole lifetime of service and care. I know these may seem like empty platitudes ( I hate empty platitudes) but they're true. She did so much and she was working at the job she loved almost to the very end. She did her father, the country and her people proud. Try to find comfort in knowing she was doing what she loved for the country and the Commonwealth that she loved.

I swear I can't stop crying. It was an honour to have lived during her reign. Our beloved queen is dead, long live the king. Lots of love from South Africa 🇿🇦

Elizabeth the 2, is already missed here in America. I felt like a great presence left this world yesterday. And smiled when the double rainbow was seen. and I hope that both Charles and William stay strong. God bless England.
