My grandmother was the same age as Elizabeth, and she was younger than I am now when Elizabeth became Queen. It's such a long time. I keep thinking how can anyone but Elizabeth possibly reign, how can we ever have anything but a Queen? People were impressed that my grandma made it to 93; but the Queen kept trucking for even longer. I'm glad she made it to her Platinum Jubilee. Rest in peace.

Kudos to the pilot for making this announcement. It was appropriate, and it was done sensitively.

I was driving my coach out of London when I got the news, as you should I made the announcement to my passengers and the coach was silent for the entire trip, it was actually heartwarming but very sad at the same time. Was a horrible day.

I''m American, I have heard, "Long live the queen." and that is what she did for her country and family. RIP

Never forget: When war came, rather than hiding in a bunker or running to a distant country, she put on a uniform and got her hands dirty. THAT is the epitome of a true leader. Not 'my country is under fire and you have to do your duty', but 'our country is under fire and I will do my duty'.

She was Queen all of my 66 years of life, it will feel weird not seeing her. I feel sad only because I was supposed to visit London a year ago (due to the pandemic) and was hoping of getting a glimpse of her but may she rest well, she served her country well, sending love and condolences to the royal family from Dallas, TX.

I was on a flight from London to NewYork, we had that same kind of announcement. Flying with BritishAirways, the pilot asked for a minute of silence, well fair the say that, after the first low humming "ohhh" and a gulp that went through the plane, there was more than one minute of silence and most of the people around me didnt even dare to touch their enteitainmentsystems and watch movies. It was quite a special feeling in that moment.

I almost got into a fight with a dude in a bar mocking her death. I am American born of English and Canadian descent. That is my Queen. Period. And I won't tolerate disrespect. Long Live the King ♥️👑🇺🇲🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

Many UK commercial pilots served with Royal Air Force and HRH Queen Elizabeth was their commander in chief.
It's likely this pilot served and probably had a deep affection for Her Majesty.
A year on and I still find it hard to accept she's gone. It isn't often that we have a beacon of strength, faith and service as an example and guide but by fortune Elizabeth II was at the helm of this nation.
She is missed.

After seeing the news she was in medical isolation that morning, I expected the news she had passed wouldn't be long in coming. But when I heard the official news later that day, it was such a strange feeling. I'd expected it, yet it was so strange to think. When someone has been part of the world for so long, a small part of you really starts to think they'll always be there.

I served Her Majesty for 30 years, thinking I was a tough soldier.
The news came through when I was driving. I had to stop and have a cry in the car.
So sad the world lost that amazing lady.
RIP Your Majesty.

I was on a flight to London but no announcement on the plane was made. Found out after landing, that she was sick that day and later passed. May she rest in peace

I am an American through and through! We screw up things like every other country does. I serously was hoping Queen Elizabeth II lived to be 100 at least! Steadfastness and dedication to duties was absolutely 💯 shown with her Majesty the Queen! I honestly believe she would have made it to a 100 if Prince Philip was still around!

I'll never, ever forget my elderly mum phoning me, telling me our beloved Queen had died. Mum was inconsolable we just cried on the phone together.
