I'm going to my first Divine Liturgy this Sunday. I'm so exited I feel like Orthodoxy is one of America's best keep secrets

Can you make a video on non denominational Christian churches.

I was listening to a protestant last night, and he said that he went to bed with his girlfriend, so now she's his wife because they "became one flesh". I'm just going to leave that here.

This isn’t an issue for Protestantism as a whole though, only for these new progressives and non-denominational churches or the weird free grace baptists

Joseph Smith said during his search for a church to join, this. And I think it applies here. "...for the teachers of religion of the different sects understood the same passages of scripture so differently as to destroy all confidence in settling the question by an appeal to the Bible."
The Bible was never intended to be the final word of God, to be used to scratch out of it the truth and to overlay dogma upon it. This is why we not only need His Holy Spirit but also Prophets and Apostles.

Protestant here 👋, consistent and knowledgeable Protestants actually agree with everything said here, a mere confession of Faith does not save, in light of James 2, a dead Faith also doesn’t save. Romans 4 a true Faith does save and like heat to a fire will produce good works but neither the level of Faithfulness or works can be presented to please God in a meritorious intention. Grace is a Gift.

Dude, thus happens in ALL of Christianity. True believers know what you mean, even in protestant circles. My relationship with him is a need! I noticed when I am not on relationship. Weather that be because of distractikn etc. That is when I feel the mkat hooeless etc. Recently I have started a habit of abiding with 3 things. 1.Reading the word 2.praying 3. not just once a week. But daily and multiple times a day. This has caused great Great change in me. You jabe to be with him, you have to know him. I have seen Catholics who know NOTHING of the word. They don't know him either man! This thing you are speaking of as something oit of contexf is not just a protestant thing, it's in Catnolicism too!

I’m Protestant and when I’ve read that scripture, I understood that to KNOW Jesus as he says is to know as Adam KNEW his wife Eve and bore a son… it’s an intimacy - the same as when Jesus says “and this is eternal life; that they may KNOW you, the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.. we are called to intimately know God the Father and God the son - this isn’t an orthodox thing.. I can tell you right now, I’ve met more orthodox Christians who don’t KNOW Jesus and would not understand this scripture.. this is a shallow Christian thing.. Christian’s of all denominations who profess their faith but don’t walk the narrow path..

Charismatics are not too rationalistics. Its opposite they claim that we orthodox are too rationalists and academical and we lack the spirit.

To be Protestant for me is like your trying to serve 2 masters. I had no stones left to turn over when I was led to orthodoxy. This isn't working. There has to be more. More I can do. More I can give. More I can experience. More to be revealed. I don't wanna be in kindergarten all my life. I don't hold it against anyone that is content there either. I just felt like something's weren't lining up. Glory to God for all of it. I just know I'm home now.❤

As a Protestant the way I see it there are many things we can hold an open hand about and a few we hold with a “closed fist”. No one will ever agree on everything even people amongst the same denomination disagree about minor crap all the time much less between sects…it’s the closed fist issues that matter, the things that are a REAL threat to salvation if not blindly heretical and apostate if interpreted and believed wrong.
I hope in the future there is more communion between branches where we can join more as brothers despite our differences and despite the fact we know we’ll never agree on EVERYTHING. But we need to be united now more than ever. The end of times are coming soon and evil is becoming more and more apparent. Let’s not bicker about (relatively) little things and then get blindsided by the true horrific evils that haunt this broken world…

So a shallow reading of our Lord's words (and all of Scripture) leads to heretical attitudes... But if you spoke with devout protestants like those I know, none of them stop at "it means to call on the name of the Lord" as was stated here. You have not answered the question because you have not sought to understand protestants.

I come from the old protestant church, the ones that don't exist anymore. We sang old hymns, and our church was small, but we were family, and Jesus was our shepherd. We brought in children from the neighborhood with buses we rented, to teach them bible stories, and about Jesus. No fancy theology college pastor, just the old fire and brimstone one. Church of God growing up and later Church of the Nazarene. False prophets are everywhere, doesn't matter what denomination, the enemy attacks on all fronts. I have been dead twice, I have been before the throne, and I know where I am going when I am done here on Earth.

Orthodox, Catholic, and Protestants(besides some heretical new agers) are all Christian and accept Jesus Christ, and are saved.

Although we differ on many things, we are all the body of Christ. And it may be by His decree that differences come about so that we can argue, debate, and sharpen one another.

Truth is the state of Christianity is perfect to weed out both heretics and heresy, since we can safely examine and research the scripture without fear of a single corrupt leader.

I would make a distinction between traditional Protestantism and „modern“, charismatic Evangelism.

People confuse them too much. The one came out of the other but they are not the same.

I go to a Protestant church only because my parents do, I want to be orthodox one day but no Orthodox Church exists where I live, at least good ones.

21 Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; **but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. **

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, **ye that work iniquity.**

What is the will of the father according to Jesus?

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

It's about people not truly having faith in the Lord.

So if they worked iniquity it's because they did not do the ultimate work, which is to believe on Jesus Christ, that work which will save them. Notice how Christ says he never knew them and that they work iniquity, it is because all those miracles and things which they did, without faith in Christ, is iniquity.

John 6: 28-40
28 Then said they unto him, **What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?**

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that **ye believe on him** whom he hath sent.
