As a Protestant Bible believing Christian I say great work, young man and God bless you!🙌✝️🕊

More people will understand now the danger of working alone, of starting something without blessing, without God. So much heresy exists in this world today.

I didn't think the Eastern Christians recognized St. Augustine. St. Augustine pray for us

The Eastern Fathers don't go as far As St. Augustine or Pelagius. They both end up going into two different extremes. Yes, we are dependent on God's grace, yet we need to freely accept and cooperate with God's grace.

The absurdity in the idea of working for your salvation implies that an exhaustive checklist can be applied or a mathematical formula before you enter heaven. Clearly, the chaos of life demonstrates that the Creator does not work with a point system. No amount of legalism is going to give you absolute direction or protection from the unpredictable nature of life.

Besides, if we were righteous and there was no original sin, wouldn't God need to ask us humans for forgiveness whenever tragedy befalls us? A perfect God who allows perfect, sinless beings to suffer is not perfect. It is therefore more probable that we humans are not perfect.

I'm a Protestant (traditional Reformed), and I know this is an Eastern Orthodox channel, but I absolutely LOVE these covers of different saints and what significant actions they took. Please do more.

Polemic arguments seem to gravitate to extremes rendering the arguments functionally nonproductive.

The Greeks we say any endeavor without blessing will not be fruitful without faith even sinless there is no salvation. But honestly I have met good people but are atheist and remained atheist even though they received their personal revelation from God . Yet I am inclined to pray for them.

I'm newly baptized Orthodox. So, do we believe in original sin? We inherited the effects but not the guilt?

It's really sad that his teachings became the foundation for Calvinism, a false gospel that has deceived many today.

thinking that you can live sinlessly without God is already a sin of its own

Thank you so much for your posts. I enjoy your messages. In class this week, a student talked about predestination, can't remember if he said specifically double predestination, but it sounded like double predestination is his belief. Since I don't know him, I'm not exactly sure that I heard what I may have heard, so I directed the table back to free will & God's grace.

It seems to me that both Pelagius and Augustine were arguing to unnecessary extremes. Bootstrap self-salvation is wrong, but so is calvinistic total depravity. Perhaps a semi-augustinian media via is the best approach...

How would you respond to the argument for the doctrine of Immaculate Conception then? If Eastern Orthodox doctrine suggests that Mary lived a sinless life by exercising Free Will, how does that differ from the writings of Pelagius? Rather, doesn’t Immaculate Conception make sense through the primacy of Divine Grace?

Pelagianism is still around today, in many churches.

there is strong evidence that Pelagius was caricatured since he mentions grace in his writings repeatedly. Augustine introduced novel ideas, rooted, no doubt in his background as a Manichaean and Neoplatonist, which influenced Luther and Calvin, as well.
