In my opinion, these are the best overall CPU+GPU combos

Ultra budget:
$125: R5 5600G
~$200: Used R5 3600 + Used GTX 1660 Super (or RX 580 for slightly cheaper)

Entry level
$310: i3-12100F + RX 6600
$380-400: i3-12/13100F + RX 6700

Mid range
$480: R5 5600 + RX 6700 XT
$530: R5 5600 + RX 6750 XT
$620-650: R5 5600 + RX 6800/XT

High end:

Depends a lot more on what you want to do with it. However for gaming exclusively these combos should be good. At this price point there’s also the added cost of more expensive motherboards and DDR5 RAM.
$850: R5 7600 + RX 6950 XT
$1020: R5 7600 + RX 7900 XT
$1200: R5 7600 + RX 7900 XTX

My R5 5600 and RX6700XT combo is probably the happiest I've been with a new build - my 1440 monitor has a 144hz refresh rate, so I'm able to play everything so far on high settings at the monitor's max.

Just bought new parts for a build including a i5-13600k. I wanted to get something for future upgrades and considering the prices of the MOBO (NZXT N7) and DDR5 RAM I had to settle for the RTX-3060. However, I’ve heard this CPU is the best bang for the buck in the new generation pc parts .
Already spent way more than I’d like to admit because of the MOBO prices and having to make it look pretty but interested to hear what GPU would go good here.

I am rocking a Ryzen 5800X + RTX 2060. I am very happy with this as a budget 1440p build. Don’t see myself upgrading for a while! But, I heavily considered the 12400F

i have a r7 5800x with the red dragon rx 6800 and i fell like these are a great combination. x570 motherboard with 4 sticks of trident z neo 8gb at 3600 and this thing can run my 1440p gaming pretty well.

I put together a new PC with the best components I can afford every 4-5 years [love those Christmas sales!]. Right now my 2.5YO 17-10700K is doing everything I need it to, and my recent blow-out upgrade to a RTX 4080 GPU will keep it in business for another couple of years at least, even playing AAA games. [I hope]. But my way isn't the only way...

Honestly why would you say that? Newegg has an xfx 6950 xt for 629. Why would I get the 4070? If I really want to be cheap they have the 6800xt for 534.99. At those prices I’d get one of those cards before I’m buying a 4070. You guys usually have good recommendations but I disagree on that comment.

Whatever you do don’t get the Ryzen 7 5800X. Literally tried a million things in the bios/other and it refuses to run below 100% usage. I literally have 2 liquid cooled fans on it and still hot as hell. Apparently it’s a common occurrence -.-
