I got an rtx 4090 and ryzen 7800x3d almost exclusively for gaming and it’s the fastest most amazing experience I’ve ever had which is exactly what I was going for. I also got the best lg ultragear ultra wide monitor I could find. Would highly recommend. But yes it is a sub 5000$ system

I7 14700kf and nvidia 4080 super owner here and has worked flawlessly. Great for gaming and productivity. Im glad I chose the i7 over the 7800x3d because they are not good outside the gaming world.

Well it all depends what you’re looking for as well.
5800x3d and 4090 founders
Monitor is 390hz 1080p
If I play 1080p max settings rtx on I get 130fps average.
No where near my monitors refresh.
Your advice is good for most but not for competitive players imo
Comp players need a 7800x3d with a 4070 running low settings in wz and Fortnite.

Best cpu/GPU combo that you’d recommend right now for a content creator/streamer. (Serious, almost full time). Special needs. Need to encode 2 separate streams. While gaming/recording. 4090 is out of the question price wise. My thoughts were either the 7950x3d with 4080 or the i912900k with 4080….but I’d love to hear your thoughts.

The thing is everybody suggests the 7800X3D because it still out performs the newer 7900’s versions because of the L3 Cache if you build a high end with a 4070 ti super to a 4090. The newer Ryzen’s have more cores but are built for more productivity and tasks rather than games.

Am4 is actually a great platform for entry level to upper mid level with the 5800x3d and 5700x3d.

I've got a 5700x3d paired with an Rx 6800 and 32GB CL18 3600 GSkill ripjaw ram.

My weak spot is the b450 class motherboard, however since most games can't make full use of Gen 4 nvme let alone gen 5 it's not really a big deal.
