You can still get the rx 6800 GPU which has 16GB VRAM fresh out of the box for a lower price or better buy used however the rx 7700 xt has better ray tracing support and has future driver updates that'll considerably increase performance for a slightly higher price and 4GB less VRAM.

1440p is the sweet spot resolution. Better looks than 1080p not as sharp as 4k and not the performance drop from 4k either.

I have the Hellhound 7800xt and it runs extremely cool (peaking at 60* on the HOTSPOT). I was able to get it overclocked at a STABLE 1060mv which makes it able to go up to 2900Mhz clock speeds, getting performance rivaling a 3090 in pure rasterized performance. This is still while keeping the card rather cool too (now the average GPU temp is 60* up from 45* ish and the hotspot temps up to a maximum of like 80*). You clearly can't go wrong with either of these cards but those 16gb of Vram you get on the 7800xt are gonna make sure you're pc is ready for future unoptimized AAA titles.

Last gen still takes the cake.
The RX6800 has basically the same performance + 4GB of VRAM.
The 7000 series naming scheme was messed up anyways...

I recently bought a 6800 xt used of someone, can’t be any happier because he sold it to me for only $375, I paired it with a ryzen 7 7800x3d and 32 gb of ddr5 ram hoping to upgrade in the future to a 50 series nvidia card

I really like this card - undervolted and overclocked, runs as stable as ever with high fps in every game I try to run

I build my own pc with the rx7700xt and ryzen 5 7600 .I added some 32 gigabytes of ram and now I get around 120 fps 1440p max settings on fortine.

Nah, that title still goes to RX 6800. Same performance, less power draw, more vram, and it costs the same or even less depending on your location.

I’m happy my 3060 is still going strong, yesterday I played some dying light on 1440p with medium/high settings with dlss on balanced and sat on stable 70-80fps 🙏

Make the mic blue to match your background with your 3, 000 dollar laptop in the floor with dog hairs on it!

hey zach you should make a spreadsheet about every gpu, and what cpu to match it with

I still think that 6800 XT or 6800 are a better choice because they have 16gb vram and aside from buying them new, you can also find some pretty good deals on the used market for those two cards.

Eyyy thanks for the shout out. I paid $419 for the 7700xt, I would have done better but the 7700 was the one I chose to spend a little extra for a bump in performance.

I love my 5700xt. I cap my frames at 60 (due to my monitor specs and desired temps) and it has been an amazing card for years!

I'm not even a PC builder but I watch your videos to add to myself

Thats why i got the 7800xt NITRO + So i have some performance advantage over the reference especially in 4k cuz of the bigger bandwith.
