This is my combination and its really good at 1080p and even 1440p medium settings can easily run with it.

If there were any lessons I have learned in my 5 yrs of building my own gaming pcs, it's those 3:
- Never skimp on the PSU
- Never skimp on the VRAM
- Never skimp on the CPU

Exactly my system. However, I usually have more CPU usage than GPU usage because of the games I play.

The combination is perfect, since you can upgrade to a better gpu later on and not bother upgrading the cpu as well.

GPU's here in Brazil are really expensive, and the Rx 6600 is the cheapest we have access right now (and it costs a whole minimum wage, it's hard for us to get one GPU more powerful than this). So, we pick a good CPU hoping that someday we'll change our graphics card. Kinda sad

Personally I would choose a CPU that supports PCIe gen 4.0, but the Ryzen 5500 is still a really solid choice

Id say keep the 5600. Lower odds of bottlenecking if you upgrade to a better GPU.

I disagree with the cheaper CPU mentality.
Not every game, and certainly not every program, is GPU-intensive. While a strong GPU can be limited by a weak CPU, a strong CPU isn't constrained by a weak GPU in a CPU-heavy task.

I think it's more future proof that way tho. If you get a more powerful cpu, you can be sure that your gpu will be totally used, even if you upgrade it in the future. I recommend to get a mid range cpu, so that you won't have any problems for ne thext years to come, and so that if you want to upgrade, you don't necessarely have to swap the cpu too. The 5600 + rx 6600 is a really good combo, because your gpu won't be bottlenecked for sure, and if you want to upgrade your gpu to something like a rtx 4080 in the future, you wont have any issue.

What's stupid is the money that you save wouldn't be enough money to put towards a different GPU.

U have a good suggestion but i think buying a 5600 hundred is better because gpu is one of the most easiest thing ti upgrade. Especially if u are buying a used gpu u wont lose anything when u resell it.

Best Combination about price, performance and power usage

You should do a short on RAM if you haven't already, many people seem to ask on various forums whether they should get 16GB of RAM or more, especially with newer motherboards which can support 32GB+. My advice always is to open all your tabs/programs that you often use, then task manager to view the RAM usage. If you are getting close to maxing it out (especially if you haven't even started up a game yet) then maybe 32GB will be a safe bet but if you don't mind having programs and tabs refresh when you jump between them and a game, then 16GB will be enough for most gaming, otherwise 32GB will allow people with 20+ chrome tabs happily game and browse simultaneously without the fear of running out of RAM.
