Here's the GPUs I recommend to pair with the Ryzen 9 5900X at certain resolutions!

I use a 5900X and RTX 3080 12GB an play @ both 1440p 240hz and 4K 60hz just fine, you really don't need to spend $2, 200 on a GPU to play at 4K. Only game that kinda struggles is Cyberpunk, even then you can use DLSS to achieve 60 fps.

Also, you are pairing 4090 and 7900XTX in the same class when 4090 is in a league of it's own. 7900XTX is much more similar to the 4080.

My 5900x is paired with the Asus Rog 3090 and I still love it. I’ll upgrade sometime but for now I’m still happy with it ❤️

just upgraded from a 3600 to the 5900x, was torn between that and the 5800x3D but decided i’d be better off in the long run with more cores, still delivers more than playable frame rates at 1080p with my 3060 12gb. honestly don’t plan on building a new computer for a few years, and will probably upgrade the gpu and move up to 1440p at some point before then anyways.

Go with the 6750xt even at 1080p, the VRAM requirements of games are only going up. You’ll appreciate the 12gigs for some time to come.

I think developers should optimise their games more rather than putting up the requirements, I do understand that the requirements will go up with new games but for the people with low end pc like me it will help people save money and will also help the environment

I may be upgrading to the ryzen 7600 this year

Thank you for some clarification. I have a 5900x and a 6800 xt Red Devil. I could never decide if I was CPU or GPU bottlenecking because I've seen builds like 5800x3D with a 3090 getting insane FPS. Now I can see why I get low FPS on 1440p ultra settings. Time to get a 7900 XTX.

I play 4K on a 3080ti with a Ryzen 7 5800x at 144fps and if you keep resolution maxed it but lower other settings you can get max frames but usually with EVERYTHING maxed out, I get a solid 60 fps on most games

Got a 4k monitor last week and I have the ryzen 9 5900x paired with a 7900 xt red devil. I play cyberpunk high settings with balanced fsr and it runs a buttery smooth 92-100 fps. Don’t doubt it could easily handle 60 fps without it on.

I just went from an rx 6700 xt to an rx 7800 xt with my R9 5900x. I can now game on the highest setting at 1440 RT off with zero issues in all my games and sime with RT on.

What about the RX 6900 XT and RX 6950 XT? Sure they are last gen but 1440p beasts in their own right.

I built and own a custom PC that rocks the 9 5900x paired with the Asus ROG Strix 4080 and I still get high framerates at 4k resolution. Pairing a 4090 with this CPU would be ridiculous because you wouldn't be able to utilize the full potential of the card.

I have R9 5900x with RTX 4080, i must say i find some cpu bottleneck in some games on 1440p.
