I think a better combo would be you and Carter doing the thug shaker.

All gamers that live near a Micro Center (including myself) should be eternally grateful for the bundle deals! 🤤

The 7800xt and 7800x3d is the exact combo I bought to play valorant, overwatch and rust, all CPU heavy games.

I love this vid because its my exact scenario. I ended up snagging the micro center 7800x3d bundle with the black friday price and have been waiting for all the drops until i make up my mind gpu wise. At first was considering the 7600xt (as 16gb vram is a must for me) but with a brand new 1440p 165hz monitor i do want to get the most out of it. So i think the 7800xt is the way to go for me. I was looking at the 6800 but its over a 3 year old card at this point. I cant really justify spending over $500 on a card that will be close to obsolete in 4 to 5 years either.

I think the 3d is still worth getting first because the gpu can be upgraded later and the 3d cpu will be more future proof and help a lot with more than just gaming. Its already insane how much it can improve gaming fps in the way a gpu upgrade normally would

if you buy the best cpu, you can keep it for 5-6 years and just get a new midrange gfx card every generation (2years)

Yep, people fret too much about "bottlenecks" when they should worry about trying to get the most bang for their buck.

I remember when 80 class cards were considered enthusiast grade and the 60 class cards were the mid range cards

I’m sort of disappointed there wasn’t a “There is another” Yoda meme included in this short. 😢

Three things
The 4070 ti super may be a little better than the 7900 xt
The first is good for CPU-intense games, the second is better for more GPU heavy ones
Zach you need to do the thug shake

That was exactly my thought when I was researching. I ended up finding the 7900xt and 7700x both on sale. Saved a little money to get that better gpu.

The cheapest 7900 xt in my country is $1000 😢 and it is very hard to find a used 7900 xt here. 7900 xtx is like $1200. Rtx 4080 is like $1400-$1500

Get the 7800x3d, you wont have to sell or replace your cpu like ever and you can upgrade to any gpu

I’m in this exact situation and I think it’s a perfect combo, at least in my opinion

Initial combo can help with futureproofing
By eventually selling the GPU and getting a better one to increase CPU usage

It highly depends on what game you play and at which resolution. If you play CPU heavy games or a lower resolution, then the CPU might be the bottleneck and if you play on a higher resolution or a game with a lower CPU usage, then the better GPU is more important. In my case for example a better CPU is more important since i like to play StarCitizen (a very CPU demanding game). Just look at the games you usually play and at your future upgrading wishes since upgrading a CPU might look cheaper at first but can be significantly more expencive since a new Motherboard and maybe even new RAM (depending on your Hardware) might has to be concidered.
