How to do a Clean Install of Windows 10 with the ISO File

Windows 10 can be pretty great much of the time, but people are having their fair share of issues with the rather new operating system. Microsoft suggests a "clean install" of Windows 10 in order to ensure the most bug free experience. Now that Build 10586 has made it's way to the slow ring, ISO files are available for download.

But how do you perform a clean install of Windows 10 from the ISO files? This video will show you how to perform a clean install of Windows 10 straight from the ISO files that you can download.

I reserved copy of Win 10 why back when it 1st appeared. It is still saying it will notify me when it is downloaded. How long should this take? I've read the best way to upgrade is to wait for Microsoft to send as it will have all my device specific drivers. But how long should this take?

I did the recovery option as there was no setup file, there was no install from Blue screen, just options to startup in safe mode etc.

When I click inside the ISO on setup.exe, i get an error saying autorun.dll cannot be found or something along those lines.
Also, would I be able to select what drive i want this installation to go to or would it overwrite my current version?

Thumbs down. That's not a clean install. You already assume windows is on the hard drive. Change the title of the video it's misleading.

Guys I have a 64 bit windows 10(3.5 GB) on my USB flash drive (FAT32 format) !!! Now can I directly use the USB flash drive to boot and install that win on a new PC !!! And install ISO directly via the USB port ?

I think I'm missing an important point here. When you create your ISO file, surely, it has to be done from a computer that you KNOW is perfectly healthy. Creating an ISO file from a computer that has serious problems with it, as a kind of back-up of the hard drive, would mean that you are just copying over the problem wouldn't it? So how can it be sure that its a clean copy? Wouldn't resetting the computer to its factory settings do the same job?

You can not run a ISO file on windows 7 in the later part of 2023 because Microsoft UPDATED the Win10 version. Nor does Win7 have a mount option. SUCKS but true.
