I had a iPad Air right at launch day. I absolutely loved it but could stand the puny sound (compared to the iPad Pro). So whenever the iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen launched in 2017, I bought and haven’t looked back. The Air performed admirably whenever I had it. I loved it. The non laminated screen was mildly annoying but it was my first tablet, so I got used to it quickly.

I am watching it on iPad Air 1... but the apps are kinda slow now to run on this so thinking of moving onto 11” Pro. 7 years done on this one are seriously amazing... it become so much a part of life for everyone in family to enjoy.

I couldn't agree more. Well if you have Macbook or Laptop already, and you just want to check emails on the go and you just want to watch YT or Netflix, why spend a lot of money if major of the work will be on your laptop. I've tried using the newer version of Ipads. I can just do a little tasks like browsing, email on the go, and YT and netflix which I can actually can do in my Macbook too. So, it is good to have a portable ipad but spending a lot of money is not practical if you'll just use it for basic tasks.

we even have 2 ipad air 1st at home, and yes..its have accompanied me and my son since it has been sell on my country..
the best at that era, and still using this to lightly gaming like PUBGm retaliance and Freefire..
my regular use to watch movie or youtube..even this been able to help me live game streaming with facecam, using Switcher Studio app...
quite okay for performance, over their age..never disappoint me..

6:22 iOS 12.4.9 was released in 2018, so the iPad Air 1 can’t run apps that are released after 2018.

I’ve just upgraded from the 1st generation 128gb to the Air4 256. If my charging port hadn’t become very slightly enlarged making charging a pain I probably wouldn’t have bothered. However it gave me 7 years of heavy service, I have a health condition where I spend a lot of time in bed and I was on it often 12 or more hours a day. I will keep my original even if it’s just to take on holiday etc.

The thing I like best about the Air 4 is the battery life, I had to charge my original after about 6 hours (usually while watching it, hence the port enlarging). I’ve used my 4 for about 14 hours with still 30% left.

I find a lot of people get many years of service out of their iPads and they are great value for money. My original was around £400 if I remember rightly and this 4 was around £650.

I have both of those, and the gen 2, although my first gen is in really bad shape, cracked screen, the glass is peeling itself off, broken home button (it was a refurbished one, had been repaired multiple times)

i have an ipad pro and an old ipad air, tbh i take my ipad air out with me alot more than the pro, when i go camping i can just chuck it in my bag and i dont have to worry about losing or breaking it or it even getting stolen as its not worth anything, screens still great to watch films on and browse internet
