For anyone who's not sure which to buy because of the pro motion, just remember that pro motion may sounds cool, but it is for those who use ipad pro for draw or those who use it for photo or video editing. For anyone whos planning to use it for everyday gaming or video watching or youtube, pro motion does not make any difference. That being said, if you got the money to throw around, just ignore what I said and buy the pro model.

I would definitely go for the ipad air (or the cheapest thing i can find)

As somebody who uses his iPad Pro exclusively for Procreate, I'd go with whichever model had more storage and RAM, for more and larger projects. RAM has a huge impact on digital art because low RAM throttles the number of layers you can have on a piece. And since I also use it for animation, the more layers the better since each layer is a frame. Can't wait to see what the 2022 iPad Pro has in store! While the new Air looks fantastic, I get the feeling the next Pro is going to put it to shame for my needs.

I would get the IPad Pro 12.9 (in fact, I just bought it while watching this video) because of that doubled RAM in the 1TB and 2TB models. When I heard that, I was sold. Double the RAM is a big deal to me because that means greater longevity for the device. I'm the kind of person that like to use a device until it's not usable anymore and the longer I can do that without having to buy a new device, the better.

Already purchased the M1 iPad Pro when it came out spring 2021 and don’t regret a thing! Speakers and 120Hz display are amazing, and definitely won’t need to upgrade for several years. The performance on this thing is also crazy.

64gb base model is a right turn off to be honest with you, there shouldn’t be such a thing as 64gb in 2022.

Honestly as a student having Touch ID is so much more functional that having Face ID (especially when we had to wear masks) I’ve had both on iPads now (2018 pro 2020 air( and the Touch ID has ALWAYS been faster and less hassle, though this may be to do with me being left handed and naturally covering the camera but it’s still a hassle

My iPad Air 2 and 2018 iPad Pro are still going strong and show no signs of slacking. When I got them I thought they were expensive but I really got my money’s worth, especially with the iPad Air 2 considering it came out in 2014.

HATE having only FaceID. Wish there was the option to also have TouchID. I have 2018 Pro and also mini - much prefer TouchID

Good review. I upgraded my iPad Pro first gen 2018 model to the iPad Air 5th Gen and when doing so I carefully compared the iPad Pro 3rd Gen too. But I decided in favour of the iPad Air because just as you said, for most regular working joes out there, the iPad Air works just fine and dandy.

i ordered the iPad Air5 because M1 chip... that's it. All the "Pro" stuffs can be done on a regular laptop, and for gaming nowadays I prefer console because you can hook up to a really large and nice TV's.

I also am holding onto my 2018 iPad Pro until something a little more revolutionary hits the market. This machine continues to be awesome and has shown no signs of performance loss

I have the iPad Air 4 and I don’t think the M1 is worth the upgrade. I also got the iPad Pro 12.9” M1 open box from Best Buy with Apple care paid for 2 years for $849. There are way better deals than the iPad Air 5

The best is 2018 version which realistically gives you all the basics you need without a sensible difference, may be just the camera and central model which is not a big deal particularly if I you already obtain a recent cellphone including these features
