Had to revisit this trailer on May 4. The excitement for this movie will never be duplicated. I specifically remember when Darth Maul engaged the back half of his lightsaber and my mind basically exploding. Now it's nothing. We've seen it a thousand times. But back then....unbelievable. And to see the Jedi in their prime take on such a villain....hyped to be the best movie ever.

This was the very first movie trailer that I ever saw online using the internet...
I remember it...5 years old at the time, my dad wanted to show me and my siblings something on the computer. But it wouldn't play properly - it would get a few seconds in before freezing, right as the Gungans were emerging from the fog. So the video kept stopping and we kept going back to try and get it to re-buffer; over and over. (I actually thought my dad and brother were trying to figure out what the Gungans were and what emerging from the fog meant.)

Can I Just Say That I Really Loved This Movie And It Is Probably My 3rd Or 4th Favorite Star Wars Movie! I Love Jar-Jar, The Podrace Was Amazing, And The Lightsaber Duel Was Great! All I Have To Say Is That I Think The Prequels Are Great!

Goosebumps at the time, goosebumps now.
I understand that if you grew up with the originals and you are hungry for more, that the prequals are not what you expected.

But the prequals where absolute masterpieces in their own right. Perhaps less of a funny family movie, bur superior when it comes to depth.

I was 10 when this came out, allready knew the originals.. But when i saw those doors opening to Darth Maul and duel of the fates roled in, i allready had my greatest cinema experience ever.

I truely believe that the prequals gave me a deeper understanding of politics and struggles of idioligy at a early age.

There’s actually a bootleg of this trailer on YouTube that was shown before Meet Joe Black. Star Wars fans bought tickets to Meet Joe Black, just so they could see this trailer. The reaction was amazing.

I'll never forget waiting over 2 hours to buffer this trailer on dialup internet back in 1999 and having to restart because the connection dropped out. We watched it frame by frame as it buffered before we got to watch it in motion. My earliest memory of using the internet

God, 25 years later, and I'm still reacting to this like I did when I was 13.

The bootleg of this trailer was passed around school like it was the Grays Sports Almanac of the late 90s. I never would've imagined that one day all of these prequel trailers would be so easily accessible after spending months/years secretly passing the bootlegs around.

I actually REALLY enjoyed this film. I know it's the "cool" thing to dunk on the prequels, especially The Phantom Menace, but honestly, this film was great. The writing was actually good and had a lot of depth, more than I had originally gave it credit for. The only thing this one had going against it was that the performances were sometimes a little weak, but overall, the movie is not as bad as a lot of people try to make it out to be.
