The hardest thing about your tips is self control for me! I know these things yet it's almost 12:30 am and I need to get up in 6 hours! I am such a night owl! I feel like I'm most productive after 10 pm! - Can you talk about what does your typical day look like? or some quick meal ideas, maybe using the slow cooker? Thanks for posting this!

Excellent advice.  I do all of these already.  I love Flux!  I also wear blue blocking glasses at night. I am in my mid 40's and have some trouble sleeping.  Changing hormones play a huge part at my age.  For those in or close to peri-menopause or who are in menopause, Suzanne Somers book "I'm Too Young for This" is great. So true about blood sugar.  If it dips too low at night this can wake us up. I try to have a small snack of whole grain crackers and cheese about an hour before bed. :)

I think this is such an important topic. Getting a healthy nights rest is essential to physical & emotional wellness. I try to keep the same bedtime routine each night and I get ready for bed around the same time. For me, a nighttime routine is necessary for my body to wind down. I do not use the tv in my room at night. I am a big advocate for no tv in the bedroom but if you are going to have one, do not use it at night.

Love these tips! Sleep is SO important, I couldn't agree more. An app for the phone that I've been using for over a year now that changes the screen to a red tones at night is called Twilight. It's free and I know has been helping with my sleep.

This video was a great reminder to me about the importance of sleep! With a little one, I tend to stay up later than I should and get up early so that I have time to get things done, but I feel tired a lot of the time because of those habits. I am also such a big offender of screen time at night! Eekkk! I love your suggestion for the flux app - I had not heard of this, but will definitely be checking it out :)

Yes there's an app, I use Twilight on Android, I think Flux has an iPhone app too. Good ideas!!

FYI -- if you have an Android, they do have flux -like apps, the one I love is called Twilight!
Blue-light blocking glasses literally changed my sleeping patterns in an instant. I'd recommend them to anyone, even if you don't use a lot of tech at night. They have super cheap ones on Amazon for around $8 bucks!

Thanks for the great tips Laura! I have a blue light filter on my phone. All I did was a search in the app store.
