I sat in the rear seats and it is more spacious than something like an Audi q7, despite being smaller on the outside. It is like the Tardis from Dr. Who.

I replaced my A4 with the 2022 Tiguan Allspace R-Line. I love it! Everything about it is great.

Infotech looks cool - streets ahead of the current software and car has moved upmarket too - substantially. Good video Nobby and nice car VW.

This a great improvement from VW, just like the ID7. Seems they may have upped their game from a few years of doldrums. Personally I am glad they are doing diesels. Electric is unaffordable for the majority of people and will be for years to come. If you do long miles it is the only way forward. Great review Nobby. This could be one on my list come the summer. Expensive for the bells and whistle one though.

56 and 58 k for the r line, only 2 models available. Nice car but they are smoking crack in VW. Same cars are under 40 UK Pounds. Once again a complete rip off in Ireland!

Watching from Connecticut USA. Beautiful redesign. We don’t have it yet. We also don’t have diesels anymore.

Mark. As we all know will sell by the bucket load Imagine the pre-orders! And yes many customers could [and should!] buy a Golf or 308 estate! Needless to say this Tiguan will be eye-watering for a 'full spec'd' model. And let's face it clients will spec it all!
It's got bigger and yes VW have done a fantastic job. Looks, design and quality. The previous model was a hit for everyone from farmers to NW Londoners, this will be no different. Great review as always. Just watch the Tiguan 'fly out' the showrooms. .

Great review. This is the finest review of the new Tiguan, except for the one with the beautiful young German woman. But this was most informative.

Already own a new shape 2021 r line. Had the car 3 years only disappointments are the steering wheel with slide buttons had to be replaced as it fried the controls underneath. Common fault with back log had courtesy car for 8 weeks glc merc, still preferred the kit on my tiguan when i got it back.
Had to replace rear discs and pads back in august and front discs and pads in january. The tiguan forums said this was common as they are made with the cheapest of materials as the only way the vw garages can make money on consumable parts. Dont know if the Scottish weather never helped but nearly £ 800 for vw parts and fitting was not cheap and to disintegrate in only 2 and half and 3 years. Believe me i was in the vw garage under the ramp and seen the rusting for myself. So this might i mean might put me off another vw but i do like my kit.

I like the way they made subtle design changes on the exterior whilst maintaining that quintessential Tiguan look. I still prefer the straight lines and sharp sleek edges of the 2023 Tiguan R line models. This one is more rounder and blobbier just like the iD models but sure it will grow on me the more I look at it. But the interior though is a big step up from the dated and bland cockpit of its earlier predecessors. Well done VW.😊

Excellent review, thank you! Must have been great driving around the Castellane / Gorges area, have spent a lot of time on my bike there and it's epic!

My first car is Tiguan 2017, and the thing I hate the most about it is the arm rest, worst ever height of it and length. Oh and I had two major issues in it, triptotonic shifter since it’s automatic and coolant thermostat and pump.

4 likes even before it started, in anticipation to another great review.

What's the colour scheme for the r line

Do you know what cursing speed the PHEV engine cut in taking over from the electric motor?
I had a Lexus and in theory it was limited to less than 30 mph but in reality over 17 mph it switched to engine. This was virtually useless for mixed town and highway driving.

The front of Tiguan looks similar to a Citroen Dispatch van (check it). Unfortunately in my view the Citroen van looks much better. VW has obviously transfered the design and style Department completely to Skoda. How this bland and boaring design was signed off by VW is beyond me. Costing a whopping 60K for the Elegence trim I will be keeping my Tiguan 2.

Thanks for the review, it's very informative. When you mentioned 6, 5 lit per 100 km, is it when it run on pure petrol mode or when it combines both el+petrol mode?
